words you regret

Have you ever said something out of anger simply to piss someone off? Something that that person judges you by forever? Well, to be honest, too much beer may have a little bit to do with it. I still feel ashamed that I let my anger cloud my judgment the time I'm thinking of that stays lodged in my brain like shards of regret. Now, forever more, they'll always be a guy out there who thinks something of me that couldn't be further from the truth. I just wanted him to shut up.

moa rider

Years ago a worker under me complained about me to my boss. I was in the right and my boss agreed. The guy knew he was out of line, but was pushed a little by is fellow workers as he was the union rep. These things happen and I'd long forgotten the episode... Not so long ago, I met the guy on the street and stopped to talk. It turned out he had a month to live and through all those years he wanted to apologise to me for causing trouble. I shook his hand and said I'd forgotten, therefore forgiven him years ago. Your bloke has probably forgotten too, but if it bothers you, call him and apologise - it doesn't hurt a bit. Usianguke

Thank you, Moa--and we never got along anyway, I'm more upset at myself than feeling bad for him; besides, I wouldn't know how to get ahold of him anyway.
