ILLUSION

By Al Garcia

Like a mirage, floating in a sea of time, we are but an illusion of stardust and the reflection of sun rays against the density of nothingness.

We have created the illusion of our delusion.  Swaggering bits of hijacked bits of energy and waves of cosmic thought, congealed with wayward molecules and particles of dust and sand, and smidgens of proteins, atoms and quarts, in a melting pot of whirling winds and ocean tides. that stirred awake the consciousness of time.

We are but an illusion without limits or controls.  Flourishing among the tranquility and serenity of a floating and decaying organical garden of dreams, of fantasies, whims and urges.  Building, destroying, waiting.

And like a mirage, we eventually fade and cease to be.  Because like a mirage, an illusion is only a brief refraction of light emanating from the vastness of the sky above.  But for one brief moment, we are.  And in that moment, we command and demand, instead of simply enjoying the moment for what it is – a chance to feel and sense the power of the universe.

The dinosaurs were important for longer than we are likely to be, ninety percent of species that have ever lived are now extinct. Our over-importance is likely to be our downfall, and it isn't climate change that's going to do it. Usianguke
