FALL

Fall – Month 2

Just once in my life I would like some consistency.  The world is falling apart at the seams when beings can’t even count on the normalcy of the seasons.  Now, to be fair, we put ourselves in this situation and are truly the only ones to blame.  However, I gave up on there being any positive and productive skills available a long time ago.  The whole reason I feel like I exist is because of the terrible, blood-soaked history I have barely scratched the surface of.

Luckily for me, I have a myriad of ways to access this information and my favored method right now is through playing Assassin’s Creed III.  I am certainly aware of liberties that were taken in this work of fiction for dramatization, but there is still substantial and, frankly, rather disturbing histories presented about colonial America.  While I have not played too much of it, I am hooked in my own warped way and look forward to seeing where the story goes.

With so much aggression and violence over time that is well recorded, it is simply a logical extension that games set in a world of destruction are just as common as those set-in fantasy.  A fine example, I feel, of this is The Last of Us which I also started to play.  It is a perfect example of the scales forcibly being balanced, as everything must always be.  Mother Nature turned around and took back what was rightfully hers in an act of necessity.  The ancient adage of “only the strong survive” will always be true, and believe it or not, nothing is stronger than nature.

Needing to remain strong, the cast and crew of Julie Rada’s Antigone, myself included, also have adapted.  The plan now is to professionally film the play and share it as much as possible and with as many outlets as we can.  In the big picture, this may actually be better but we have had to adjust the schedule slightly.  We hope to get it released before the end of the year, but life always takes her due, so we shall see.

Either way, I will still be around, so please continue to be as well.
