Like A Ton of Bricks
By Alexander Guinevere Kern

Asian Black Belt, my camera Lens swallows you like Jonah.
Your minute, vulnerable elbow lifts (relax - focus - click)
No! Elbows and bricks don’t mix! I’ll have a photo soon,
Of fractured radius and ulna bones, a hot balloon
Of fear implodes my lungs. Teacher, do not adopt
This jepardous stunt! Bony guillotine drops -
/shutter click/ a Geyser of brick, stone chips. Oh, Wow!
You, pollen-skinned, arch-eyed ornamental beauty, I guess
Things just fall for your naturally, kid,
I sure did (thanks for the photo), I sure did.
