My painting "Bigfoot"

Bigfoot doesn't live here anymore.

He moved away,  along the shore.

I'm sure he's just as distressed there,

He may be even losing hair.

We've succeeded in some things,

Destroying nature and all it brings,

Polluting rivers, streams, and parks,

Where kids would play and dogs would bark.

To put another highway in,

Or oil pipelines...what a sin.

He couldn't take the noxious fumes,

As smog descends and choking glooms.

Another forest burned to ash,

The timber sold to make some cash.

His habitat now decimated,

No place to hide, they're all abated.

His winter cousin the Yeti cries,

As polar ice melts, and seas rise.

Sasquatch has moved further north,

Where tar sands bring desolation forth.

We barely knew him, was rarely seen.

Our friendship could have been quite keen.

But global warming's killed it all,

While industrial interventions fall.

Now we encroach upon the lands,

And leave strip malls, and empty cans.

I can't help thinking about those unseen,

Whose lives we've wrecked for our own dreams.

I love those fiery colours you do. Amazing.

Heart-wrenching. We really did do all that, and look away, and now act like nothing is wrong….

Poor fucking mythical shite....we barely knew him...
Ta for the complement mate it was a study I did in about 45 minutes for a Chewbacca painting, that ended up being a mural in a bar. It opened and was destroyed 37 day later in a hurricane. Turned out to be the shortest lived mural in my career.
