A chapter of Holocaust written from the viewpoint of a young Germany solider.

Her eyes were dark-chocolate brown
drowning in flame flickering brine.
They reflected lonely her silent cries
and my own blue quivering eyes.

Genetic difference built a chamber between us,
crammed within it the dreams, and the nightmares
of "We Reich hold in our hands
the salvation of impurities' crimes"
as what Farther Hiller had claimed.

Her silent cries condensed into crystals
as my pitiful duty ordered her to march in
to their fictitious sins
knowing her gossamery fate was no more a riddle
but would be part of piles of wonders.

As a young solider of Reich
I saw under any distinct colors of eyes:
our each sorrowful tear flowed
was transparently alike.

What color, what race, and what sin?

My hand reached for that purity upon her cheek
I was deemed as no more a Reich
and pushed into the chamber for my filth and reek.

Inside the chamber I saw nothing but
under all colors of eyes:
our each sorrowful tear flowed
was transparently alike.

What color, what race and what sin?

Our common humanity is worth celebrating in this sorry time of schism. The message is enhanced by your own unique style, Derina.

Thank you Adam. A free verse in a different prospective I suppose. One memory of mine.

Matthew 7 : 1
Many atrocities are committed by those who stand in judgment of others.

That is very true. No one on earth should deserve that treatment. What does Mattew 7 :1 say?

You have created a very powerful poem, much outside of your previous writing.

Thank you. I try to write in different styles and genres. This one is still a free verse. Sonnet is the one I still dare no tot try as yet. This image occured in my dream often. I belived it was what happened then where I was the boy.

Of course, the history tends to repeat itself. Hope the good also repeats too.

Another fine post, Derina, that tells of the biggest failure of humanity the world has ever known
