A poem about short lived emotions I felt after Plot Twist.

At long last

I have been set free

I had chained my own hands

I tore myself apart

At a loss unable to fix

Or mend your broken heart

But the chains were my own

I had locked myself away

Like a child hiding in the dark

Who’d forgotten the light of day

That’s all I am

A child then

Asking all the wrong questions

And drawing conclusions

Writing them in pen

I made myself a prisoner

Of a perceived crime

I locked the door and threw out the key

I figured that was fine

And as soon a I told you

Why I had done all this

You told me of the deception

And of the injustice

You unlocked the cell

You cut my chains

You set me free

Of the guilt and the pain

I am at last released
