STOP CALLING THEM REPUBLICANS – STOP THE LIE

By Al Garcia

At what point of the escalating zealous rhetoric, violent threats and even actual assaults and attempts at overthrowing our leadership and our government, will the Department of Homeland Security finally step up and name the Republican Party a threat against our national security, and a terrorist group?  How far must the insanity of losers and traitors persist, before someone finally says, “Enough!”

Daily, I hear on television and on the internet, reporters, analysts, political pundits, and frightened ordinary American patriots, call out some outrageousness, of the “Republican Party” or one of its members or leaders.  When will this stop?  There is no Republican Party.  It is dead.  Only the name is being kept alive in the hope of legitimacy and rightfulness.

To call the dregs of our society who are out to destroy our democracy “Republicans” is to defame the greatness that once was, and the memories of such notables as Abraham Lincoln, who needs no build up of his character, his nobility, or his love of country and of the American idea.  Theodore Roosevelt, ranked one of the top four presidents by many historians.  Dwight D. Eisenhower, who rejected the Republican Party’s right-wing views, and labeled the right-wing of his party during his time, “the stupidest people in the country.”

Then there was Thaddeus Stevens, the great abolitionist and Reconstructionist.  Charles Sumner, who like Stevens, championed anti-slavery views, and was physically attacked by another member of Congress (I guess the equivalent of our current Marjorie Taylor Greene or Paul Gosar, among others).  Ulysses S. Grant, one of the north’s greatest generals and American President whose humanity toward Native Americans helped enlightened the nation’s understanding and appreciation of their dilemma and plight.

Others, such as William Sherman, a general, Gifford Pinchot, a great early environmentalist, and many others, that history has recorded as great Americans and illustrious Republicans, who helped to mold and nurture the Great Old Party (GOP) to its prominence and greatness.

Most recently, there was Colin Powell.  A man of all seasons, and a Republican who saw the deteriorating character and honor of his party long before its descent into its current state of irrational idiocy, and spoke up and stood up, as the true American patriot that he was.

It is time that everyone, from politicians to reporters, from pundits to ordinary Americans, stop, once and for all, to continue calling the current turncoats and traitors of our Constitution and our government “Republicans.”  We should demand that Congressional, Judicial and other government employees, whether elected, selected or employed, be tossed out if they cannot live up to their oath of office.  Individuals who openly and brazenly speak and act against the very rule of law, and the values and ideals set forth in our Constitution, should not be in positions that obstruct, hinder or thwart the conduct and deportment of our democracy and the normalcy of our lives.

Call the former Republicans “Obstructionists,” “Traitors,” “Leninists,” as Steve Bannon, a vocal ex-Republican has so aptly described himself, and in turn, his followers, “Trumpists,” for those following the crowned pied piper of grifters, swindlers and confidence men.  Call them anything, but NOT Republicans.  The true remaining Republicans must disavow and reject any association with those who have hijacked and commandeered their name and their great history of democratic allegiance and belief.

It is time for the remaining true Republicans, and all true American patriots who long for the return of the normalcy of our lives, to respond to the shenanigans of the Obstructionists, Traitors, Leninists, Trumpists, or whatever they want to call themselves, with the same abandon and unrestrained intemperance, as they themselves are using and abusing.

If that means doing away with the Filibuster, and voting out the undemocratic, the racists and the outright supremists out of Congress, so be it.  This is a nation of law and order, not a third-world nation of intimidation, fear, coercion, extortion, or harassment.  How can someone who has openly betrayed their oath of office to support and defend our Constitution, be allowed to sit in office and brazenly attempt to destroy our nation.  The time has come to say, “Enough!”  “Out!”

The Department of Homeland Security must act now, before it is too late, and before all political parties are destroyed, and the only sound we hear, is the goose steps of marching mindless men, women and children, chanting automated words of adoration and admiration without passion, without inspiration, simply out of order and command.

Our democracy must not follow in the footsteps of the Republican Party.  We must not let their hypocrisy infect and destroy our legacy of perseverance and resolve.  We are a nation of heroes and of patriots who have always put country above self, and above party.  This is the hour of our greatest test.

So, stop calling them Republicans.  Stop the lie.  Call them out for what they are, and for who they have become.  They represent and are part of everything that our nation has ever fought against, on our own soil and in lands across the globe.  They are the evil that spreads and kills the blossoming of the human spirit, and the malignancy that festers and destroys the very host it attacks.  In this case, our very own America.

Listen to the voices and the words, and look at the acts and actions of patriotism and devotion of our great pollical and social Republican leaders of the past.  They inspired and challenged the nation to see beyond the moment and beyond themselves.

It is time for us to meet the challenge of this moment in time, and listen to the distorted and unrecognizable words and actions of the overthrown Republican Party.  It is time we come to the aide of our nation and of our citizens, and attempt to retore the dignity, the grace, and the nobility that defines our political system and our political dynasty.

Brilliantly written. You're absolutely right. If a Muslim or minority had committed any of these atrocities, there would have been extreme rendition to Gitmo by the same party. From Russian interference, to supporting the worst lying president in history, their failures are very apparent. I can't think of one piece of legislation the GOP has proposed that actually helped any of their constituents, except corporate donors.
Backing a draft dodging coward, who attempted a Coup on January 6th, usurping the principles of democracy are heinous and reprehensible.
Drumpf and his family fortune were built by human trafficking, after his grandfather Fredrick Drumpf fled Bavaria to open Brothels in the Pacific Northwest, but the GOP's ecumenical base still supports this idiot, who is more Antichrist than Christian. The GOP needs to rebrand and be honest with Americans, how about changing it to the KKK.
