The Darkness Of Daylight
In the darkness of daylight
I pause to wonder
how it ever came to this.
Bleak,
black,
no sign of the sun;
for all I know
it could be midnight.
The stars,
the moon...
they’ve disappeared too,
leaving me sightless
with only the sound of my breathing
to prove that I’m alive.

I touched on this metaphor in one of my poems I didn’t really like. When I felt cold and lonely, on the beach, on a beautiful day. So I get it. I don’t really go outside anymore, now. I don’t know your situation. Just sharing.

When you inside all day
I wish it was nice out, but it looked like rain
Grey skies and I'm drifting, not living forever
They told me it only gets better”
- Mac Miller
