Hope Grope... or... No Rope Mope Slope

It was there... I wrote it down... It would need no other description than itself... but for the fact that the slope, built into the physical shape of the poem as I wrote it, is not as visible, as it could be if the lines were properly spaced from each other! Alas...

Hope Grope... or...
No Rope Mope Slope...
 
You ask me why I mope...
I have a hope that I can cope...
But then the hope becomes a dope...
And I slip a bit down that, proverbial slope...
Then I realize, I'm a hope dope, who can't cope...
Now, I'm losing my hope, because my hope's a dope...
So I mope, with no hope, slipping further down that slope...
At this point, I need a rope; you could maybe call it a hope rope...
How is that, for a no hope trope? Stretching out my hands! I grope...
But nope, no rope! And I slip even further, down that ever slipping slope...
Ope! The Scope of that Trope; A soap-slippery hope dope, grope for no rope...
