Evaline had an unsettling feeling about her hotel closet..

Evaline started her day with her normal morning routine.  She woke, took a shower and dressed for her next day of vacation.  She was enjoying her vacation other then the closet in her room.  It gave her a creepy feeling.  She had refused to go near it and decided to request a new room.  She exited the room and headed to the stairs.  She was severely claustrophobic and refused to take the elevator.

On the ground floor she approached the main desk.  The clerk appeared to be typing on the computer she approached and started telling him she would like a new room due to something feeling off about the closet. The clerk remained silent she was afraid he had not heard her.  As she was about to repeat herself he said "Sorry ma'am but were all booked up" He did not look away from his computer.  Evaline turned walked away the desk clerk hanging up the phone as she did.

Resigned Evaline decided to go about sightseeing.  As evening fell Evaline returned and retired to her room.  Upon entering the room she noticed the bed had not been made again.  She mumbled about the terrible customer service as she prepared for bed she avoided the side of the room where the closet was. As she climbed into bed she made a mental note to chastise the staff in the morning about the lack of room care.  For now she closed her eyes to slumber.

In the morning she again woke and completed her daily routine, before heading out taking care to not go near the closet.  She again took the stairs to the lobby and approached the front desk.  She started telling the young man about the lack of hospitality around here and her room required maid service.  It appeared as if the man was ignoring her.  After he did not reply she screamed to get his attention banging her fist on the front desk causing the light bulbs in the desk lamp to shatter.  The clerk looked up in Evaline and the lamps direction before stating "have to get that fixed."  Satisfied the maid problem would be fixed Evaline turned and left as the clerk picked up the phone to call the maintenance man.

When evening fell Evaline again retired to her room after a day of site seeing.  Upon opening the door the first thing she noticed was the bed was still unmade with no new sheets.  That was the last straw she picked up the phone and wrung the front desk.  A young gentleman answered the phone, but all he did was repeat the word hello as she tried to talk.  The clerk finally hung up.  Frustrated Evaline slammed down the phone causing the lights to flicker and the closet doorknob to rattle.

She stared hard at the closet waiting for it to happen again or the door to swing open.  As much as it creeped her out it also called her to it in a certain way.  Deciding she would have to take matters into her own hands, she marched to the closet and threw it open.  One look inside and she screamed shattering all the light bulbs in the room.  What she had seen upon peering into the closet was her own dead body.

A creditable start, I think. It's 'sightseeing' if you want to fix it.
