While taking a walk in the woods, I come across an unlikely companion.

I went walking in the woods today. I noticed I was following a squirrel, hopping branch to branch curiously on the trail. when he noticed that I was staring at him, he stopped, and stared at me. I was stunned; I have all of a sudden entered a staring contest with this strange squirrel. I waved to this surreptitious squirrel and it did not flinch. Just kept staring me down intensely, like we were two people reaching for that last scoop of chowder at a Rhode island buffet. I was 10 feet beneath the branch of this intrigued squirrel. I go on the path searching for an acorn for the cheeky lil fella. I was unsuccessful in finding anything. Just some pine cones do squirrels eat pine cones? I have no idea; I thought better to not offer it out of respect, for this fury lil savant of everything that is nut. So I wave goodbye and I turn my head around my shoulder to see if he was still looking at me, and sure enough, there he was watching me, watching him till we meet again Douglas... till we meet again
