Townspeople who're very set to witness us marry and become husband and wife. It's time for it. Our parents and the rest of inlaws are happily anxious for an event. I can observe them experience an excitement. This's as a master of ceremony invites some guests to the high table. A ceremony. Kone and I are maturing toward it all the years from 1992 until 1997. It has come for a passing. After it, we'll not be youths again. Adolescents who are yet to be responsible members of the society about our people. Once in a while, I do steal a glance at my bride. Background to an end.

My name is one of a person. All the while I'm a bank clerk (1986~1991), what I take from my branch manager is a salary advance. My female workplace colleagues do eye me over it. Little do I know.
They pray it isn't a loan I get. But, one day in 1988, it has to be. A personal loan of N788 for my purchase of ordinary shares of Afribank Plc. I don't know it's a taboo among the maturing girls
in town. One of them do pursue a male staff who gets a loan until as he marries her. And in course of the affair, to dispossess him of it. For getting a loan of N788 do Stelly set to marry me in
1988. She'll not marry me proper because the amount is small. A personal loan of N123,000 for me in 1992 is to attract Kone. Knowing that I've this loan to enjoy, she meets and agrees to marry me
in 1997. Page 1.

A wedding ceremony.

Notwithstanding that wedding ceremony is over, Kone declines my request for union. She hears; but, continues to ask me to wait until all of guests are home. Eventually, there isn't a guest around.
Yet, she tunes my request off. I want to ask her insist. But, I don't want to go so low as to request for the union with words. Quietly, I do remember. My mother uses to drum it into my ears,
advising, `Do not marry a girl if she's word made flesh. For she's also a trouble made flesh. She'll not grant to you anything unless you ask for it with words !' I'm to go oral. But then, stops. I
know a thing. Words adulterate desire for sex. As an early morning Sun creeps in, it dawns on me. Those must be guests who are here to marry Kone. Over the years they perhaps don't know skill to
achieve desire for her until it'll be day we'll wed. And we'll invite guests. All the while before day of this wedding, worst still, I don't know if love that Kone has for me originates from her.
