Derren and His Desirable Wish:

Derren couldn’t believe his luck. His desirable wish had come true! He was now a sevadaal (volunteer) working in Prashanti Nilayam, India. Where his beloved lord and divine spiritual teacher Sri Sathya Sai Baba who had lived there and had given darshan (meet and greet) to his devotees. Sri Sathya Sai Baba had lived in his physical body until the age of eighty five years old. Even though his beloved Swami (a name used by Sri Sathya Sai Baba) was now no more, Derren still loved serving in the Kulwant Hall, the Poornachandra Hall, and serving lunch and dinner to the devotees in the Northern canteen.

Before making his desirable dream a reality. Derren loved attending any sort of prayer as well serving his parents Shailee and Gokul who were now no more and had brought him up as a Sai devotee following Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings. He’d visited Prashanti Nilayam from the age of eight till the age of eighteen. After completing his A Levels in the UK Derren decided to go and serve Sri Sathya Sai Baba and study at his university as the education was free and decided to become a doctor. Also he worked at Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s speciality hospitals for five years and on his days off would do service in the ashram. He’d bought his own flat in Chitravati Road.

He was now very cautious as one of Swami’s students Madhusudhan Naidu had created a new group called Muddenahali telling devotees that Sri Sathya Sai Baba  was now in a subtle body and stated that he was doing Swami’s work and making devotees believe that he was Swami! He was even asking devotees for money as well! Derren along with his other sevadaal colleagues were very suspicious of Madhusudhan and his Muddenahali group. They were informed by the chair of the Prashanti Nilayam Trust that Madhusudhan was a fraud and if they catch any devotee meeting with the Muddenahali group then as punishment that particular devotee and their family would be banished from Prashanti Nilayam. Derren and the other sevadaals in the ashram were now on alert and ensuring that no devotee was secretly meeting Madhusudhan and joining his Muddenahali group.

Even though Derren thought what the chair of the Prashanti Nilayam Trust had said was very harsh. He then remembered what Swami had said before he passed away that some would leave him and some would stay dear to him.

As the rumours of the Muddenahali group went around the ashram, Derren didn’t care in the slightest and carried on his work at the speciality hospital and his service in the ashram. As in his mind Derren would stay dear to his beloved Swami unlike the other devotees who had left and joined the Muddenahali group set up by Madhusudhan Naidu who was one of Swami’s students and should have known better!
