You are the shooting star I'll wish upon
-Words with Power

We are the stardust that must combust

The light that's just enough or at least I trust

That we may see in this darkness that swallowed us

This pain is more than shallow cuts

The stain of rust fills my guts

As I stomach this world and its unjust,

An iron taste from bitten tounges

Words hung in heads unheard unsaid

Instead of wrung from chokin' throats

Or sung as broken notes

But I'm soft spoken

Often not awoken

As my words loft with dreams

Sentences the stitches of quilted seams

Yeah it seems I'm a patchwork person

And so are you, that's why it hurts when

I see your pieces breakaway

And I can only wonder, What should I say?

To stitch you back and make it okay

Shoot I wish this daydreamer had more than a starry sorry

Which is hardly a stitch to fix this broken mess we're in

But I guess then again one star can't illuminate the night

So I need you to combust to fight the unjust and bleed your light

It will be alright
