It’s common to lose people along the way, but that doesn’t make them any less significant.

We were different seeds

Planted in the same garden

Growing in close proximity,

Blooming at different rates

We were all so beautiful

So unique in our petals

And weeds beneath

Our shared soil

We saw our time together

Was coming to an end

Where we would be potted,

Taken to new territory

Welcoming new sun,

Bringing new life—

New meaning

Wherever we may go

So I thank you

For sharing my roots

And I bid farewell

As I progress in my prosperity
