A new poem

There is a bluebird in my soul

It is begging for release

Teetering around the hole

Restrained by the inner police

Every day I reach back in time

And take the wing of that bird

To show him he'll be fine

That his voice can be heard

Oh, look now how he soars!

Listen to his tune!

A boat with no oars

Enchanting as the moon

He is silenced no more

Perching in the trees

Healed from the core

Freed from disease

This bluebird of mine

Suppressed for years

This bluebird of mine

Conquered his fears
