I do not like posting anything political online, but I feel like my voice needs to be heard on what happened Friday, June 24, 2022.

Dear Republicans,

You must be so happy with yourselves

Preventing women from choosing to abort

When they might be suffering?

Well, who the Hell says you can control what they do?

A law?

Completely disrespectful!

You’d better watch your back

Cuz we will remember

Wait till November,

When we will kick you out!

OK Charlie, you've asked me to review this piece... so I will tell you what I truthfully think. Sorry in advance if I am brash/rude. Please note it is just my opinion and therefore worthless. Here we go.

I just don't believe voting "works"... at all. I've read 'On the Duty of Civil Disobedience' by Henry David-Thoreau. He said, "But government in which the majority rule in all cases can not be based on justice, even as far as men understand it.” He was implying that no true manifestation of justice would come from majority rule. This is ignored. Interestingly, Gandhi looked up to Thoreau. Gandhi said, "When a state becomes lawless or corrupt, civil disobedience becomes a sacred duty." In light of these philosophies (Franz Kafka's The Trail is another good example of the futility of a democracy that is not really a democracy, just two sides dressed in different costumes). I believe the the two-party system to be a charade. Theatre. I believe actually wouldn't matter who the president was, or any official. Those official networks are deeply corrupt. It's manifest and demonstrable. Julian Assange is being extradited to the US literally for telling the truth and nothing more. So there is no true justice or democracy. It's a show. Intelligence networks, civil service runs everything. Looking back at any point in history this holds true. Advisors control puppets from the shadows just like kings have advisors. The show "Yes, Minister" does a fantastic job of demonstrating how it works.

Anyway, that's just what I think. You must arrive to your own conclusion. I've done my own homework and produced a body of work including essays inspired by Orwell's views on nationalism...

I don't know what to say. I'll ask: Do you think, in any case, no matter who was elected, any significant were to change? Substantial promises are always made (usually near election time) but never fulfilled and plausibly deniable reasons offered...

Anyway Charlie, I am trying to be civil and polite. There are dark things going on in this world right under our noses and things aren't as simple as we're made to believe.

If government officials truly want to do good for the country, they will fight tooth and nail for us. I'm disappointed that the democrats didn't do jack earlier. to keep Roe v Wade, but I still will vote.
We must write letters to our representatives and continue to write, even if they do what we want.

I've written letters to MPs, Charlie. It does approximately nothing (no effect). In fact, there is a special police division in my country set up specifically to target/stalk/intimidate/charge/arrest anyone who 'harasses' a MP. The bar is so low for that that a journalist who is a student just almost went to jail for just trying to talk to the Dep Premier. The same group targets dissidents. One of the crimes listed is 'incite/plan overthrow of government'. The language is so vague as to be terrifying. It's one of the reasons I'm going to stop writing. People don't want to know the truth. Oscar Wilde said, "if you're going to tell people the truth, you'd better make them laugh or they'll kill you."

That's so wrong! I'm sorry.
