An attempt to see how America has been taken over by the Neo-Liberal Elite

So why are the American People suffering?

During the 1960’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, and early 2000’s I was a regular visitor to the USA spending time in New York, Washington DC, Boston, Florida, Seattle, Portland Or, and California.

Until the 2000’s I was always struck by the pragmatic attitude of the American citizen of the street and their determination that their voice and their opinion should be heard by government. In this they were aided by a vociferous free press that never seemed shy to confront Government at any level. The politicians I met at State or Federal level similarly seemed to have their feet firmly planted upon the ground of reality.

In the late 90’s there was a detectable shift in the US media, it began to publish more propaganda and less factual or investigative journalism. A New York Times journalist that I knew explained to me that the media owners were putting huge pressure on editors to support the Government line and ignore public opinion. He stated that Government press releases, and op-eds from the NSA, CIA, and FBI were now printed without any attempt at verification or seeking opposed opinions. “It was a simple situation”, he said, “if you want to keep your job you do as you are told”. In his own words he said “There is a massive program to squash dissent and dissenters.”

In the 2000’s I made several trips to Washington DC and here the changes were even more evident. On the Democratic side the Clinton led clique were already decidedly anti-Russian and anti-China. The ultra right wing Republican Tea-Party group was gaining ground with its anti-Moslem and anti-immigrant policies. It was clear on both sides of the house that a new vision of USA policy as the maker of the worlds rules and regulations was sweeping through American politicians. They all seemed to believe that somehow the rest of the world was cheating and depriving the USA of its rightful place of world hegemony. Even gentle requests for an explanation of this view would be swept aside with angry rhetoric. Suddenly my air tickets to the USA were marked ‘SSSS’ I was seen as an unfriendly alien. The rain of sanctions imposed by the USA increased many fold, even sanctions on allies became the norm.

The disastrous military entanglements in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Libya saw trillions of dollars frittered away on pointless policies of questionable morality. Fiscal mismanagement saw the continual printing of more and more money whilst the US National Debt soared to new highs. By 2020 it was pretty clear that the USA was being run by the Military/Industrial complex that profited hugely from this turmoil and the White House, Congress and Senate were caught up in this both from the point of view of personal wealth and fear of being dropped by their party.

But what of America itself, what of the American people. The slow slide in living standards and the increase in homelessness were amongst the first signs that all was not well. The neo-liberals began a subtle form of persuasion – you could be fired from your job for non-work related posts on social media. Slowly the screws were turned and job insecurity and the dissolution of middle class American continued at speed. The health care system was already groaning at the seams when the C-19 pandemic struck and the failure of the Federal Government and State Governments to co-ordinate an effective containment campaign led to millions of infections and over a million deaths. The disastrous Federal response led to commerce and Industry taking a big hit over a protracted period leading to the start of the inflation that today has become a torrent.

Far More important the Federal Government The Presidency and the ruling classes lost all touch with the reality of day to day life in the USA. Infrastructure was allowed to fail, hospitals, schools and public utilities failed to gain investment. The very fabric of day to day life began to fall apart as anger, disappointment and hopelessness gave way to protests and public violence. Police brutality and racial discrimination all raised their ugly heads causing division within American society. From 2015 onwards division swept through the USA like a plague. Democrats and Republicans began to see each other as enemies at street level whilst the real enemy lay hidden behind the back door deals and lobbying interests playing out in Washington DC.

In reality the Governing principle of the USA became government of the elite, by the elite, for the elite. And forget the rest. This came with a new class structure, The Elite, those useful to the Elite, and the useless rest.

Whether a Democrat or a Republican sits in the White House matters not. You the US citizen are being lied too and betrayed because in reality the real decision makers are there behind the scenes dictating policy regardless of who or what you voted for.

The people of the USA need to take back control, they need to reject apathy, reject petty differences and realise that their united strength is the only way they can overthrow the tyranny that now rules over them.

Nice to see other people recognize it's not really left vs right. It's also interesting to see foreign perceptions of the two hyper politicized voter factions.

I think it is a bit more complicated though than "neoliberals" or rather, neoliberals are one face of a hydra with multiple strategies and little care for which face it has to wear (which you hinted at).

I think America the idea was an illusion even in those possibly better decades... and the hydras plans have just progressed to a point where it's harder to hide the cracks in the facade.

Thanks for your feedback. Sure the powergrab is very complex. I just wanted to focus on the damage this does to the ordinary people whose taxes get purloined by these crooks.

We must, if I'm playing the bird in the perched tree understand what's happening here. On one side you have the elites who have structured society in a way that collapses the entry into their world. No light can get through. The rubble is status. They need more and more darkness, more and more money, more and more power. The more power one has the more likely they'll become a slave to it, and like a vampire because they are dead inside must drain the life out of their supply.

What can be said about this supply? I saw a mind born in the sea of propaganda of the likes their parents could never survive. Each generation the ante must be amplified. The authority with each suck of our neck loses legitimacy so they must deepen the degradation, but with each draining increases the panic and destabilizes the system. In order to keep control they must destabilize more, until the system bursts. This is where we are. This is what I believe you're alluding to. Some grand moment will come along and turn the rock guarding our tomb, so that we will see the light or all is lost, which is very much possible.

Your work excites great thought. I appreciate the insight and history lesson.

Not quite accurate, you would need to see other stuff I publish elsewhere over many years before you could make that judgement. But I appreciate your comment.

Thank You.

In all the turbulence across the world it is often easy to forget that the ordinary people of the USA, just like ordinary people in many other countries in the Anglosphere are as much victims as those their government opposes.

I should think you ought to be capable of representing your view at least in summation (at least with some level of conviction as to be convicincing) on this very topic you yourself decided to bring up, without pushing your late writing material as prerequisite reading.

Anyway, I think you'd love this recent video by Jimmy Dore called, 'Twitter Censors Anti-War Journo Over Tiananmen Square Tweet', so as to consider the ramifications of why such censorship would be necessary to begin with. lol

All the best, English man.

No Youn Tube in China or 26 other countries for that matter..

You are probably aware that Journalists and writers reporting the other sides of all the issues in China, Ukraine, Russia etc, are subjected to abuse and persecution by the Anglosphere. A clasic example is the young female German reporter in the Donbass sentenced to three years imprisonmen in absentia by the german courts for reporting that Ukraine was shelling Donbass civillians.
I write for a number of organisations that want the truth to get out there and inform people and let them reach their own decisions.

Booksie is just a window for gentler approaches, it readership is not significant in the great scheme of things and as it lacks the ability to include pictures or video evidence within the narrative then it would be pointless to present material that cannot be verified within the narrataive.
