a murder of crows
this summer in Maine
our songbirds are no more
very few squirrels around
the crows have invaded our yard
they come in groups and squawk
they scare away everything except
a pair of blue jays
their voices in shrill
loud ugly sounds, each trying
to outdo the other
seem to be enjoying themselves
a murder of crows they are
nature’s bullies
where do they fit into the food chain
