We speak in colours,
Our native tongue.
We are draped in our sorrow, our comfort, our delight.
We paint our needs on to our walls, our buildings, our home.
We talk with our tongues but there is certainty in colour.
Colour does not hide, not even at night.
It aluminates, radiates, inflates, duplicates,
We must always meditate.
Silence articulates the truth told in colour.
Moonbows, rainbows, where ever can we see those?
When time ticks slow, we will never know.
Plunge deep to seek what nature retreats,
From us, from those who hesitate to communicate in colour.
Fly high to the sky for the creature whose wings sings.
Sink to the brink for the fins or skins,
Of those who speak in colour.
Amid this zoo, you drew blue,
The everlasting colour.
When darkness swoops across our land, our sight, our mood.
We prepare for the bleak, the defeat… to retreat.
Because in obscurity, there is no security.
But blue is what remains.
Shine bright white on to the night and you will delight.
For that’s what it takes to integrate and by all means,
Take pleasance in luminescence.
Since blue is what we need.
We all speak in colours,
It is our native tongue.
For even in darkness, there is always certainly colour.
