Heartbeat

You say, "Come here,"

I lay my head on your chest,

Snake my legs through yours,

I like the sound of your heartbeat in my ear,

The feel of your heartbeat underneath my head.

It makes me smile,

I'm the one that does that to your heartbeat.

The way it speeds up and slows down,

But never really finding a steady rhythm.

My favorite place to lay my head is on your chest,

Where your heartbeat lies.
