Sometimes everything just gets lost

and I don’t know where things will land

where are my keys, my phone, the remote,

I just had it in my hand!

There are days when simply speaking,

for the life of me can’t find the words,

I’m ramble with uhs, duhs, and ums,

like my mind flew away with the birds.

On occasion I’ll be driving along,

down a stretch of road I very much know,

Turn down the radio, and miss my turn–

at times that's just how it goes.

Often moments when I am writing,

thinking I am articulate and profound

I find sentences of nothing but rubbish,

did my head make a flatulate sound?

I reckon these things get worse with age,

subtle, amusing, and random when they start,

if you haven’t reached that point I promise you will

when your brain has its very first fart.

I offer genuine empathy as I frequently experience brain fog. There's nothing quite like confusing completely random words at inappropriate times. Ha ha.

LOL, well done. I'm actually in denial about my flatulent forgetfulness!

I love this. It’s very down to Earth. Lighthearted. Everything I like in poem, is humour and a point of focus.
