Nashville
By

The trip went well until I got to the airport
When my app screwed up
And I was afraid everything was going to blow up.
Ran to the kiosk to get my hard ticket
And I got to the gate where I felt like I about to blow a gasket
On the plane the guy who sat next to us had never flown before
But I felt like I should had joined him with his rum and vermouth
We arrived in Nashville in two and a half hours.
And in the area there might be showers
Took a nap since we didn't get much sleep the night before
Then went to Publix because we're hungry as a boar
When we left we headed to the car
When all of a sudden we hear some sirens
Being from Colorado we didn't know
and we thought it was from a fire truck
And then we found out it was for a tornado
What the hell and this wasn't just tomatoes
We got through that with just heavy rain
And then our stomachs got hungry and untamed
We went out to dinner for taco pizza and beer
We both got carded and we didn't feel ashamed but felt weird
The next day went really well
We saw the sights on the main strip
Which included clubs for Jason Aldeans, Dierks Bentley and others
Where we also got beer and chips and a chance to pee
The music was great at the places we stopped in
Plus we got carded again
We also went to places like Cooters, where we saw the General Lee
And we always came out with a grin
The following day after I got out of the shower
There is a fire alarm going off
And a fire fire truck in front of the motel at this early hour
I went to get breakfast but there was nothing to to eat
And I went back to the room to get her up
But she pulled the covers over her head because she was still beat
Later that morning we went on a donut tour of the city
And all the biscuits and donuts were so sweet
And also went for a walk in a state park
Which was free and we didn’t need a receipt
During the weekend, we went down to Lynchburg
Where we were planning to go to the Jack Daniel's distillery.
Little did we know there was a festival to beat
And we walked around on our sore feet
Then on to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mountains
Where we spent the night in the town
Then we went to Sasquatch museum
Which was closed and we were not able to see him
The leafs were falling bright red and yellow
Each night we couldn’t wait for our heads to hit the pillow
And, of course, we went to Margaritaville
Where we got t shirts and thrills
Don’t forget the Johnny Cash Museum we was really fun
And we were in awe for what he had done
And every night we had a beer
Plus we always did a cheer
To our dads who were not able to be there
And to ourselves for making it through another day
And each night we found our way
To the motel to wait for another day
After a week it was time to head back
From the green lush area of Tennessee
To the brown plains of Colorado that we’re used to see
We are already planning our next trip
Will we go to Hawaii, Port Arthur, the Bahamas or another part of southwest tip?
I’m sure it’s something we’ll discuss
But I can’t wait for our next adventure and where it will take us
