In my PTSD group, our counselor teaches that anger is a secondary emotion related to a primary one. For me, that's usually fear. That thought has helped me better understand myself and behave accordingly. Have you read my poem Open Your Eyes?

Pain. Everyone gets it. Everyone causes it. Everyone has choices. Suffer pain, cause pain or make amends for it. We can make amends to people who cause our pain. Or we can suffer. Our choice.
