Saw this on the random first lines, and since I've recently become interested in screenplays, decided to have a look. Anyway, I really liked this. Very fast-paced and thrilling. Made me wonder, Who is John? Why's he out in the middle of nowhere? Why is a helicopter chasing him? Holy crap, Why'd that lady just shoot him?! Who's the guy trying to sto... Read More

This is pretty awesome. Like someone else said, I don't think I can throw together a story in under a week, though, but please continue to let me know when you post other contests, because things may change by the next time around.

Julie March's Quickees
Hi. Just on the off chance that you occasionally come on to Booksie, I've rewritten the first 5 chapters of Billum.
Have you ever sat back and wondered
what's that very first fan of mine doing
What treasure did they leave or plunder
a chance of anything new that's brewing
Just stop by to say hello
The second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth
sharing all their laughs and every tear
Where did they wind up within the mix
of every hope and every fear
Just stop by so you'll know
With each story long or short
leaving reality for one of their own
Captains in space to kings in their court
poems and songs that grip to the bone
Just stop by to say hello
The seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth
writing of dog fights between planes in the sky
Oh the drama, chills, thrills, and suspense
cowpokes finding shelter from a hot sun on high
Just stop by so you'll know
Heartbreaking truths of things they've lost
people, places, and things never forgotten
Families torn asunder, minds tumbled and tossed
the hardcore, nitty-gritty, the dirty, and rotten
Just stop by to say hello
The eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth and on
penning fact and fiction, or life and death
Where are they at, where have they gone
reading the comments that took their breath
Just stop by so you'll know
If they've ever sat back and wondered
what's that very first fan of theirs doing
What treasure did you leave or plunder
a chance of anything new that's brewing
Just stop by...

Ambivalence - Chapter 1 - Ambivalence
by PatrickLehtonenMarch
I liked the first two lines of the last stanza. They really sounded good together. But of course, great poem overall, as usual.
