I like it. Although I think if you wove more metaphors and took out the rhyme it would be more profound. Contrary to popular belief poems do not have to rhyme to sound good. I love the emotion you put into it.

If I had a dollar for every time someone said they would be there and they weren't. I would be pretty wealthy. I like your poem though. Follow through on that promise because, seriously, to all of the people that make that promise and don't keep it, it hurts. People need people so be there.
