Other Miscellaneous Writings:
#1: The problem with feminism is that it measures a woman's success by how rich and powerful she is, rather than by how much she has done for other people, which is how women have traditionally been measured. We human beings do not need to have rights. Rather, what we need is to be responsible to one another and to the world in which we live
#2: Honestly, I think Barbie is one of the worst influences on girls in our society. Because Barbie is popular, beautiful and rich, I believe she, in the minds of little girls, cultivates a sense of pride, vanity and materialism: some of the most socially destructive aspects of the female psyche. At the same time, Barbie does nothing to cultivate in little girls any of the more admirable aspects of the female psyche: kindness, affection, love, the desire to help and nurture, and so on. Have you ever seen a "Loving Grandmother" doll, who was as popular as Barbie? Of course not! Little girls like Barbie because she is young, beautiful, rich and popular, which, as everyone knows, is WAY more important than helping other people. (I was being sarcastic about that last part.) I think that the popularity of the "Barbie" franchise illustrates how popular attitudes can often be misguided, and why we should therefore not go along with other people simply for the sake of fitting in.
