My alarm rang I moaned and dragged myself out of bed. I took a shower and I got dressed. I walked down the stairs carefully smelling something so heavenly I had to have it. Walking into the dinning room I noticed there was a pancake on a plate. I sat down, not caring whose pancake it was. I put syrup on it and began eating. I was still curious on how that note got on my bed last night. I finished eating, and I got up and put the plate in the sink. It was about seven-fifteen in the morning. I rushed to the bathroom, brushing my hair and teeth. Turning off the water and wiping my mouth clean, I grabbed my books and purse, shutting the door behind me. I walked down the stairs and towards the sidewalk.

“Hi Mariana!” Felicity shouted as she ran to me.

“Hi Felicity.” I said back.

She finally got to me breathing heavily by my side.

“So, how are you?” She asked softly.

“I’m alright.” I answered.

Suddenly Diana and Nicole walked into view.

“Hi Diana.” I shouted.

But Diana didn’t turn around she and Nicole just kept walking.

“What’s her problem?” I asked Felicity.

“She began hanging out with Nicole, and she turned into a total jerk.” Felicity explained.

“Oh, I see.” I said.

We walked carefully across the street and the school came into view. Felicity and I walked silently to school. We stopped at the front door.

“Mariana I’ll see you in English class. I need to get to first period before Mr. Sampson gets there.” Felicity told me.

“Alright, see you in English then.” I said.

She nodded and walked into the school. I sighed and sat on a bench in the warm sun.

“Hello there mystery person.” A voice said.

I looked up and my eyes widened. “Hey Nathan.”

He smiled and sat next to me. “How is this beautiful girl doing today?”

I smiled back; blushing. “I’m doing alright. But something weird happened when I went upstairs last night.”

Nathan instantly froze. “Oh…really….what happened?”

“Someone was in my room, singing beautifully.” I explained.

“Very interesting.” Nathan said.

“I found a note on my bed too.” I told him.

This time he flinched and froze. “Was it beautiful?”

“Very beautiful.” I said with a smile.

“That’s very good to hear then.” Nathan said with a smirk.

The bell rang and we both got up.

“Well Mariana I guess I’ll see you later then.” Nathan said.

“Yeah you will.” I told him.

Nathan kissed my cheek lightly and walked away. I almost fell to my knees, his kiss was so soft that it purified my whole body, I felt nothing. I shook my head and walked inside. Nothing was different; everything was exactly the same as I walked to my Math class. Miss Johnson was standing by the door tapping her foot impatiently.

“Hi Miss Johnson.” I said with a smile.

She ignored me, so I just walked into the classroom and took my seat behind Daniel. Diana sat behind me, and I was between Rachel and Dylan. The bell rang again and Miss Johnson walked in the classroom, shutting the door behind her. She said nothing she was just passing out papers. Before I knew it, I was dead asleep. I was dreaming of Nathan and I. Nathan had taken me somewhere, somewhere I didn’t recognize. We swam in the ocean and lay in the sand. Until he grabbed me and pulled me close. I felt his warm lips against mine. I woke up shooting my body up and hitting my head on something hard.

“Mariana, are you okay?” Nathan asked.

“Uh…yeah I’m fine, but where am I?” I asked Nathan confused.

Nathan helped me up.

“We’re in the Nurse’s Office. Miss Johnson thought you passed out.” Nathan explained to me sweetly.

I rubbed my head.

“What time is it?” I asked still half asleep.

“Three fifteen.” He told me.

“Will you walk home with me?” I asked him softly.

Nathan chuckled. “Of course love.”

I smiled and I looked for my books and purse. “Uh, Nathan, where’s my purse?”

“I have them.” He answered as he handed them too me.

“Thank you so much Nathan.” I said sweetly.

I put the purse on my shoulder and held my books close to my chest. Suddenly Nathan took my books and put them in his backpack. He weaved his fingers through mine, and we walked out of the Nurse’s Office hand-in-hand.

“So Mariana, what did you dream about?” Nathan asked curiously.

I froze.

“Oh, it was nothing.” I managed to say.

“Oh, okay.” Nathan said.

We walked down the hall and went outside. He suddenly stopped and wrapped his arm around my waist, he pulled me close.

“Mariana I think you should know how I feel about you.” Nathan said whispering in my ear making his voice sound crisp and addicting.

I nodded, completely mesmerized by his voice.

He continued. “I can’t hide this feeling anymore, I think I am in love with you, and maybe this will prove it to you.”

Nathan pulled me close and lightly kissed my lips. My eyes widened, until I finally closed them shut and kissed him back. This kiss was better than the kiss he gave me this morning. This kiss felt like it had a meaning behind it, like he really did love me. He pulled away and I looked at him. No, I wanted this kiss to last forever.

“You’re in love with me too, aren’t you?” Nathan asked curiously.

This was my chance, the chance I could tell him.

“No, I love you like a friend.” I managed to say.

He frowned. “Okay. That’s fine with me.”

No! No! No! I love you so much Nathan! You have no idea how much I love you!

“Nathan please don’t be upset.” I told him.

I moved in to kiss his lips, but he put his index finger on my lips, stopping the kiss from happening. Nathan took off his backpack and gave me my books back. He zippered it shut put it on his back, and walked away. I just stood there, shocked at what just happened. Nothing came out of my mouth. Mariana, what the hell is wrong with you? You could’ve told him that you’re in love with him. Go after him and tell him. I kept thinking over and over again. I fell to my knees and cried.

“Nathan, I am in love with you!” I screamed.

I was on my hands and knees begging and pleading that he’d come back. My voice cracked and the tears came out of my eyes like a faucet. Grabbing my books, I scrambled to my feet and ran home with tears rolling down my cheeks. Nathan was hurt and I knew that. I also knew that I hurt myself. I saw my house coming into view, I ran faster and before I knew it, I ran into Nathan. I fell to the ground and he was just standing there, perfectly still.

“Oh my gosh. Nathan I am so sorry.” I told him.

He nodded. “It’s alright.”

Nathan helped me up and gathered my books for me.

“Thanks.” I said with a smile.

“You’re welcome.” Nathan said.

Nathan walked swiftly past me. I sighed and walked to my house with my head down. I wished Nathan was with me, keeping me by his side, nice and warm. I was walking up the stairs onto my porch; I opened the door and ran up the stairs, slamming my bedroom door behind me. I threw myself on my bed and cried for about 2 hours. It was five thirty and I finally stopped crying. I noticed another note, I read it carefully.

Dear Mariana,

The tears in your eyes were clear and pure, but they will never show how much pain I suffered today. Not even your moist eyes can help now. Cry for me baby; soak your face with tears. I want to see you cry. Keep begging and pleading, keep thrashing and screaming. Until then I won’t see you. Goodbye.

I bursted into tears right there and then. Why does someone want this upon me? Why does this person want me to feel pain? I completely broke down. I opened my window.

“Nathan I love you!” I screamed out the window.

I gripped my pillow, pleading and begging that Nathan would return in my life. It felt like my heart was stabbed with a knife and twisted until it fell apart. I took a shower and got my pajamas on. I stopped crying and realized that time was running out, I needed to find him and tell him how I truly felt, and I fell asleep.
