I cannot tell you how surprised I was to see him walk up to me and stand less than three feet away. His masculinity and his nearness sent my defense systems into overdrive. I felt the rush of electricity crawl across the surface of my skin, down my arms, and onto my fingertips. Hundreds of volts. One wrong move, buddy, and I'll fry you on the spot.

"I mean no harm, my lady," said he with a slight bow. "I just wanted to give you this."

A handkerchief.

"You dropped it."

"My good sir, I thank you for your kindness, but I must caution you that you're violating several proximity laws, which as you know stand as the pillars of good society."

He smiled and took a step back. "Like I said, I mean no harm. I simply wanted to give you this. "

I took the handkerchief- carefully avoiding the touch of his fingers- and slipped it in my purse. "Thank you," I said and looked away.

"Those are quite lovely," he said.

The surge of electricity crackled on my fingers.

"Okay, okay. I'm going. No need to get testy." He grinned mischievously and nodded towards the undergarments I held in my hands. "Careful, darling, you're bunching them up."

He laughed and looked at his watch. Then bowing once more, he turned and disappeared amidst the crowds of the bazaar.

After he was gone, all I kept thinking was why am I such a sucker for the bad ones?
