Earth's gravity grips you like a desperate lover, its perverse embrace pulling you down into an anguished union.

Thankfully, my room had a flotation tank, so the transition was somewhat smooth. Still, I missed the freedom of space.

Unable to step outside just yet, I focused on my exercise routines. My only contact to the outside world being the window- from where I watched the little sailboats glide across the immense and blue horizon.

Someone knocked on the door.

“Who is it?”

“I am Nyu, from the Monroe chapter.”

Behind the door, I found her holding a single red rose.
