Chapter.2. = Principal’s Office
My heart pounded fast as I noticed him clearly standing at the other side of the corridor, slouching to one side, his hands stuffed deeply into his pockets, smirking psychotically from ear to ear whilst talking to a couple of mates. I held my backpack on my back and headed off slowly in the other direction, hoping to avoid him. It didn’t work though, did it?
“Hey Bell.” I turned on my heels as I heard his voice close behind me. “Why are you in such a hurry?”
“I’m not.” I technically wasn’t. I mentioned that I was walking slowly, right? “What are you doing here Mark?” He took a few steps towards me and I found myself rooted to the spot, unable to move. His breath smelt of alcohol and cigarettes as he smiled, showing every single one of his teeth.
“Came to see how you’re doing.” I gulped nervously. “And hoping that you haven’t told anyone.”
“I...I haven’t.”
“You better not have.” He lifted my chin with his pointy finger and flicked it so I fell back slightly. “I’ll see ya later babe.” I had the urge to tell him to bog off and that I was not his babe but he was gone. I made my way to the girl’s toilets and flinging my backpack into the corner, leant over the wash basin to throw some cold water onto my face. I figured that as most people were in class that no one would come in.
I turned off the tap and collapsed back against the wall, running both hands down my face and groaning to myself. I jumped as the door opened and Jade walked in. Jade was my best friend. She had brown hair and brown eyes, always wearing a skirt and boots. She was one of them natural popular people who everyone liked, including me.
“Bella?”
“J...Jade?” I stuttered, wiping my eyes and putting on a fake smile, pretending that I was ok.
“Sorry, did I startle you?” I shook my head as she shut the door and stood above me. “What are you doing in here? I told Mrs Gregs that I needed the toilet just so I could come and find you, hopefully she won’t get suspicious.”
“I...I just wasn’t feeling too good, wanted to be alone.”
“How aren’t you feeling too good?” I shrugged. I was never good at lying, not to my best friend anyway.
“Headache and stomach ache.” I quickly said. “I’ll be fine though, I’m feeling a little better now.”
“Well, you coming to class?” I gave a small nod. “Come on then.” Faking a smile, I allowed Jade to help me up. Grabbing my backpack, I followed her in silence to English class. Jade went to take her seat next to Kyle straight away. Kyle was our best friend. He had brownish, curly hair and blue eyes.
“Miss Renolds, why are you late?” Mrs Gregs turned to glance at me before I could sit down.
“I...I um...I was in the toilet miss.”
“You should know not to go in the middle of my class.”
“Sorry Miss.”
“Sit down.” Blushing, I obeyed. Kyle sat in front of me and turned, shaking his head as I took my seat. I just shot him a glare and when he chuckled, I tossed a pencil at his head. “Miss Renolds, first you’re late and then you go tossing pencils at other students.”
“Just one.”
“Excuse me.”
“Just one.” I repeated. “It was only Kyle.”
“Bella, go and stand outside for me please.” I sighed but did as I was told. “And take your stuff.” Turning round, I grabbed my bag and dragged myself out the room. The sound of ooo’s were heard from the class as Mrs Gregs yelled at them all to be quiet before coming to see to me. “Bella, what is the matter with you today?” I shrugged. “Talk to me.” Silence. “BELLA!” I jumped but still did not say a word. “Look, I do not have to stand here and take this rudeness.”
“Don’t then.”
“Get to the principal’s office!” I’d been in the principal’s office enough times so I didn’t need escorting or anything. I wasn’t like most people who got sent there and try to run or anything. With no hesitation, I just made my way to Principal Roberts office. I sighed and knocked lightly on the door, hearing him call me in.
“Hey Principal Roberts.” I groaned as he looked up from his desk.
“Bella.” He sighed raising his eyebrows. I could tell that he wasn’t surprised to see me here. “Take a seat.” I did as I was told, flinging my bag by the chair. “Why are you here?” I shrugged. “You don’t know?”
“Well?” I leant forwards in my seat, staring up at the ceiling. “I was late for class, chucked a pencil at Kyle’s head and then was rude to Mrs Gregs.”
“Why were you late?”
“I was in the toilet.”
“Why did you throw a pencil at Kyle’s head?”
“He was annoying me.”
“And why were you rude to Mrs Gregs?”
“She was annoying me.”
“Bella!” He groaned with his head in his hands. “Look, we don’t really have much time for this now but I want to see you here in my office tomorrow at 1.00, do you understand?” I nodded. “Good now I doubt Mrs Gregs would want you back in the class so I’m going to go and get you some work to do, stay here for me.” I nodded as he left the room and silently, I allowed a single tear to run down one side of my face.
Poor Bella! I hope you enjoyed the chapter!
