“Fantastic, Cassie! Oh, and please come over here for a moment!” called my dance instructor, Ms. Dazzle in her heavy French accent.

Cassie flashed a white smile and went over to her.

Ms. Dazzle smiled and said, “Cassie, how would you like it if you were head of the school dance-off?”

Suddenly, the words Cassie William-Head of Washington High Dance-Off 2009 flashed in Cassie's head in bright letters.

At Cassie's school, Washington High, we always have a school-dance off at the last day of school. Washington High is a private school andCassie isso happy because public schools are so gross!Cassie placed a tanned hand overher heart, “Ms. Dazzle! I would LOVE it!” Mrs. Dazzle grinned, “I just knew it! Now run along!”

Cassie bounced over toher bestfriends, her long blonde hair with pink highlights flowing behind her, “I’m the head of the school dance-off!” Cassie announced.

Cassie's best friends Clio, Kellie, and Nadine clapped hands and pulled her into a huge hug, “Way to go, Cassie! I knew it!” they cried. Cassie just flashed white smiles and flippedher hair.Cassie knew that she would be the head. It’s totally obvious. Being born into the Williams family,Cassie can dance to anything. Hip-hop, ballet, dance…you name it. Ah, her dreams are coming true! And no one can stop them!

Gift Of Noni

Although this is a very short chapter, you do a good job of establishing a who, what, and why in the story-line. It's starting off cute and funny.

Yup, I was afraid it was too short as well. But, you've got what I wanted to say (the who, what, and why)!
