While Cassie and her clique were plotting, Grace stood in front of her full-body length mirror gazing at herself.

Today was really great, except the entire Cassie incident. What made Cassie so mean, anyway? Grace thought, pulling on her caramel French braid.

Why did Cassie have to go ahead and ruin her day? She finally wore the right clothes, had boys flirt with her, make tons of new friends, and got nice teachers.

Then, Cassie to go ahead and give her the wrong room number and say it’s a common mistake. How can you mistake 692 and 484?

Sighing, Grace sat down on her computer chair and pulled up her e-mail. 1 New Message. Grace clicked on it.

From: Lily

Date: January 31, 20092:33 PM

Subject: Hey!

Grace,

Hey, Grace! How was Washington High? School wasn’t very fun here without you. L

I think Jake misses you! *wink, wink*

Oh, oh! Speaking of Jake, I heard he broke up with his girlfriend yesterday. I wish you were here, so you can finally ask him out. What a horrible coincidence, eh?

Tears came to Grace’s eyes. She really misses Lily. Also, it’s not fair that her four-year-crush just happened to break up with his girlfriend, Brittany, right after Grace moved. I bet Cassie never had to worry about her crush…Grace thought. Grace wrote back.

School was awful, all thanks to some girl named Cassie. She’s really popular and hates my guts! Now, I have to be head of the school dance-off with her! More 411, later.
