“I’m simply shocked that students in my school would be bullying and fighting!” scolded the principal, Mrs. Lane. She was pacing back and forth, her yellow suit clashing horribly with her red bop.

“Welcome to the twenty-first century.” Cassie muttered and looked around. Nadine was fingering her book bag; Kellie was whispering, “Oh god, no.” Clio was hiding her face behind her hands, and Grace was crying. Pathetic people. Cassie just sat, her head held high.

“Now, suspensions. Cassie for bullying and getting into a fight…you have earned yourself a ten school day suspension. Nadine, Kellie, and Clio…you have been involved with this bullying…an eight school day suspension. And, Grace, for getting into a fight, a five school day suspension!” said Mrs. Lane. Cassie raised her hand. “Yes, Williams?” asked Mrs. Lane. “Um, can I go home now?” Cassie asked. “No! You must wait until your parent comes to-“

Then, Carlos burst through the doors, “Cassie!”

“Carlos!” Cassie waved, getting up.

“Not so fast!” barked Mrs. Lane. Cassie sat down.

Mrs. Lane turned to Carlos, “Your daughter-“

“Driver.” Corrected Carlos.

“Excuse me?” Mrs. Lane blinked.

Carlos coughed, “Uh, I’m her driver…not father.”

“Oh. Well, Cassie has been bullying and getting into a fight with another student! She now has been suspended for ten school days!” explained Mrs. Lane.

“Cassie!” Carlos groaned.

Cassie shrugged.

Carlos got out his black Motorola, “I will have to talk about this with your father.” He said.

Cassie winced.

“Hello, Mr. Williams? Eh? Oh fine!” Carlos talked into the phone, “Oh. Well, Cassie has been suspended for ten days for bullying and getting into a fight. The girl? Greta...no. Grace, I believe. All right. I will. Good-bye.”

Carlos shut the phone and looked at Cassie, “You are going to a public school.”
