Chapter 1-

Friday 3rd May, 2020

Audrey sits at her table in the middle of the class room tapping her pen against her notepad. She holds her head on her left hand and stares at her notebook daydreaming about Aiden Allan. Her childhood crush and the guy who barely even knows she exists. She takes a sniff in and can practically smell the food cooking at home. The thought of homemade fajitas wrapped around her heart, the taste making her mouth water.

“Audrey Williams, do you ever pay attention?” Mrs Lauren Mitchell calls out to her which snaps Audrey back into reality. She stops tapping her pencil and looks up to her teacher who gives her a disapproving face.

“Sorry” Audrey pipes up to her then looks away not really knowing what to do. She was always one for daydreaming especially when it came to the end of the school day, but who doesn't? It was when ever she got called out on it she would apologise and not know what else to do so she would look away. Depending on the teacher and who was in class she would turn beetroot red. Audrey could help but bend the rules to her advantage but some times when she would get into trouble it was like she was a child again. Not knowing what to say, stuttering as she tries to argue and for her it was embarrassing.

“Lucky for you Miss Williams it is time to pack up” Mrs Mitchell informs her which brings a smile to Audreys face. She couldn't wait to get home and put her feet up and relax, right this second she couldn't think of anything more exciting for a Friday night. Of course she enjoyed a party now and then but after getting caught sneaking in last week she thought it would be best to stay at home. Even though she doesn't mind breaking the rules, she also doesn't like disappointing her parents. Lately she's been a typical teenager not wanting to do chores, talking back and drinking when you're not meant too. Audrey didn't want to change who she was but she also knew her love for her parents was far bigger than a party that you could attend any other week. It may suck to miss out on what could be an incredible night, but there will always be another party. You're parents aren't going to be around forever. Plus Natalie, Audrey's best friend was grounded after coming home and being sick all over her bed room floor. She attempted to pass it off like she ate something wrong but her parents saw right through her.

Audrey like everyone else packs their books into their bags and if you had a coat put it on. Audrey stands up off her chair and tucks it under the wooden table that looked like it had been in use for the past ten years. Even though the school apparently gets new tables all the time but the students would highly disagree with that one. Poor Lily broke her chair last week after the leg caved in, the poor girl fell back off her chair. Thankfully she only hut Harry's shins, embarrassing for her but funny for the class. Audrey pulls her beige tightish skirt down so that it looks more appropriate and adjusts her orange t-shirt that is tucked inside. She looks down at her orange pumps on her feet looking forward to getting some slippers on because her shoes have been killing her all day. You would think she would know after the fifth time of wearing these shoes that her feet always hurt afterwards, but she never seems to care. The school bell rings allowing the students to leave the class, she picks up her beige bag up off the table and lifts it onto her shoulder. She moves her down curly hair out of the way so that it's not caught under the bag as it would feel like her scalp being ripped off. She walks over to her locker and grabs a few of her folders to take home as she has far too much homework to do over the weekend. By time she goes to leave the school the halls are practically empty and she would only hear a small patter of feet heading towards the doors. She swings open the light brown wooden door that takes her to the South exit of the school. As she steps out she notices two men in suits standing there startled by her.

“I am so sorry. I didn't know you were there” Audrey instantly apologises for almost hitting them in the face with the door. Her eyes widen at them and her face starts to blush in embarrassment.

“Don't worry about it” The tall man with a blue suit and white shirt assures her with a smile.

“Again i'm so sorry” She repeats as she holds the door open for the two to head inside. They both politely smile at her before heading inside and as soon as they are going she closes her eyes in regret wishing she payed more attention. Her mother always told her as a child that her mind was always too busy somewhere else that she never paid attention to her surroundings. Now being like most teenagers her nose is stuck in her phone.

She makes her way to the front doors where she finds her brother Isaac and their friends Natalie Palmer, Hunter Brown and Josiah Garcia waiting for her. The group of them living in the same direction as each other.

“What took you so long” Isaac her brother groans at her as they begin walking, making Audrey having to catch up with them.

“Sorry I had a little accident” She apologises to them as she walks hasty to catch up to them. Hunter turns around to face her with a serious look on him.

“You didn't pee yourself again did you” Hunter jokes to her with a smirk on his face loving to tease her as if she was his little sister. .

“No. I almost hut two guys in suits in the face with the door” She explains to them which makes them all chuckle.

“I could just imagine their faces” Natalie laughs at the thought of it.

“I stood there horrified” Audrey shares with them still feeling quite bad about it. As they are walking home the street is quite peaceful since all the other kids are home by now. All you could hear was their laughter fill the air.

After walking Natalie home as she was the closest Isaac and Audrey depart from their other friends and make their way to their house.

“Who do you reckon will get into trouble when we get inside?” Isaac mentions to her as they approach their street. The first thing you see when you come onto the street is the gardens all look welcoming. With flowers blooming all around and the grass in each garden looking freshly cut as if the residents take pride in their home. They may not be made of money but they take care of their homes as If they did.

“Most likely me” Audrey rolls her eyes at her brother as they approach the house. As much as her brother would get into trouble she knew his parents favoured him. He's was the smart one who could achieve anything academically and was most likely to get far in life. Where as she was the trouble maker, didn't care what people thought. Said and did the wrong thing at the wrong time which would only land her in more trouble.

Audrey puts her hand on the door and opens it stepping into the house. Her and Isaac head off to the kitchen/ dining room where they knew their father would be stationed after work.

“Hi dad” Audrey calls out as she walks into the kitchen to see her dad cutting up the onions.

“Did you both have a good day?” He asks them as he glances at them. Isaac stands by the door and greets him with a smile

“it was alright” Isaac replies before rushing up stairs to his room to get on his Playstation 4. While Audrey dump her bag at the kitchen table.

“It was okay” Audrey answers him and takes a seat at the table always liking having a chat with her dad before dinner. It's something they've done for years, since her mum worked until five. Her dad would pick her up from school and when they got home she would do her homework while he made supper but not it's more like he's doing the supper and she just talks because she can't be bothered doing anymore work.

At quarter past five Isaac comes walking down the stairs where he joins his sister and dad at the table. The two siblings having to sit next to each other which they both hate because every time they look up at their parents it looks like they are going to get a lecture. Their mum Harper walks through the door and lets out a little groan making it well known to her family that she is thankful it is the weekend. They hear the clunking of her heels against the laminate flooring as she comes to the kitchen. When she comes inside she lets out a sigh and smiles at them all.

“Bad day?” Audrey mentions to her making small talk with them.

“Long day” She answers and takes a seat next to her husband. She takes her work jacket off and hangs it on the back of the seat. “Let's just dig into our food”

“Thank god, I'm starving” Isaac blurts out hating having to wait for their mother sometimes especially on a monday and friday when she has to work late. His mum raises his eyebrow at him.

“School food today was disgusting” Audrey comments trying to make things less awkward.

“Yeah everything tasted salty” Isaac chimes in screwing up his face not thinking that a sticky toffee pudding should taste of salt.

“Even your food taste salty and normally it's good” Audrey pick up on the fact as she munches away on her supper.

“I didn't add any salt” Henry screws up his face then takes a bite of his to see what they are talking about. “Hmm that's strange”

“I'm still eating it, I'm starving” Harper mentions to them continuing to dig in.

After supper they all look at their empty plates and look around at each other.

“I suppose I best get my school work done “Audrey suggests to her parents only to see a surprised face on them.

“What you're not going out tonight?” Harper asks her having expected her to have gone out with her friends.

“Nah, I've got too much things to do” Audrey lies to them still feeling guilty about last week.

“Well alright then” Henry shrugs his shoulders and Audrey gets up off her chair and walks over to the sink with her plate. She sets it at the side and walks back over to the table where she picks up her phone and slides it into the pocket of her skirt. She grabs a hold of her glass of juice and her bag from the floor and heads to her room.

She opens the door of her room and uses her foot to close it behind her. She sets her glass down on the side table and her bag on the floor before putting on her pyjamas. She crawls into her bed and scrolls on her phone speaking to her friends on her snapchat group chat wishing she was out. Within ten minutes she was Ko'd.

White House- 6.08pm

The white house is raided by men in black masks and combat suits killing anyone they believe to be important on sight with silencers. Up in the presidential suite the President is joined by two of his children who are fast asleep in his arms. He hears a thud outside of his door and screws up his face finding it suspicious. He slides his arm away from his children and gets up off the seat to take a look at the security screen. He makes his way over and the door of the room bursts open and three men around six foot charge their way in. Two of the men grabbing a hold of the presidents children and the third one aiming the gun at the president's head.

“What do you want?” President Tracey holds up his hands at the gunmen fearing the safety of his children.

“You... Dead” The man answers vaguely.

“Please don't do anything to my children” He begs them as the tears fill in his eyes.

“That isn't your decision to make” The man informs him, he quickly glances at the other two and with in seconds they take a cloth and apply it in front of the children's mouths suffocating them to death. “Don't worry they won't feel a thing. We've already drugged them”.

The president lets out a scream and charges towards the men not making It far before he is shot in his frontal lobe. The two men lay the children back down on the chair making it look like they are sleeping and they watch the presidents knees crunch as he falls to the ground. They saw it in slow motion as his torso and head finally collided onto the ground. The man who shot the president walks over to the window and brushes the screen out of the way so he can see out. He looks as a wall is being built around Washing Dc and lets out a devilish smirk.

“we did it boys” he informs them and turn to look at them “Let's get out of here”. They go out in venture of any one they believe is in high power to kill them. With the whole town being drugged through their food these men and their army were able to take over the whole of Washington Dc.

William's Household- 4.02am

The front door of the house gets pounded in as six men using flashlights and tranquilizers in their arms race through the house in hopes to find those who live in the house. They split up with three of them staying downstairs and four of them heading upstairs. While searching the house they spot Henry fast asleep in front of the tv still in his work clothes from earlier. They instantly stick a needle into his neck and inject him with a high dose of anesthesia knocking him out for good. The three of them grab a hold of his arms and legs and carry him out side where every house Is the same and loaded into vans outside the houses. They rush back inside and find Harper's top half spread out on the table. Her work sheets all over the table and still in her work clothes, having only just started working away when she fell asleep due to the drugs in her system. Upstairs the first room the approach is Harper and Henry's bed room where they find it empty. They head off to the next which was Isaac's, they open up the door and see him spread out on his bed. They put the needle into his neck and carry him off to the van. The next room they approach is Audreys, they bang open the door where they find the bed is empty but warm. Audrey stands in her wardrobe shaking in fear having woke up to the sound of the men entering her home. She closes her eyes hoping and praying they would leave, the floorboard creaks just at her wardrobe and she knows they are there. She opens her eyes and sees the flashlight under the door, she takes a deep breath in knowing what is to come. The door handle turns and swings open where she looks out and sees four guns pointed at her head. Her eyes widen as she looks at them and she bursts into tears. They reach in grabbing a hold of her and dragging her out. Audrey screams the house down and attempts to fight her way out of them when she feels a sharp intense scratch on her neck and the feeling of the drug rush into her body. She winces in pain but refuses to give up.

“Get off me” She continues to scream and kick them until they pick her up. They carry her through the halls and she attempts to grab onto door posts and the staircase as they pass by making her fingers bleed but only manages to knock the pictures off the way instead and leaving few scratch marks on the wall. They carry her outside and her vision becomes blurry and she starts to get dizzy and feel sick. She briefly witnesses her neighbours being carried out from their homes in corpse like positions and thrown into a van before she passes out in the arms of the soldiers who raided her home.
