realising what we have in life is enough.

the other day whilst walking down the lane,

i got in my side a terrible pain,

i stopped to sit upon a wall and rest,

when i noticed a very large nest.

i took a closer look at this,

and found myself looking into bliss,

for in the nest was no such animal,

just a glass sphere which floated like a ball.

as i did get closer to this sphere,

i heard a song singing with cheer,

i swore that i saw little people in there,

but thought no it's just in your head.

but then bright lights of colors i can not explain,

i could not get over that i was in that much pain,

the air around was warm and calm,

i kept feeling a fluttering about my arm.

they were like little people with wings,

dressed in colors that i have never seen,

a peaceful harmony was all around,

and found myself upon the ground.

the pain i had in my side had gone,

and i felt so nice so strong,

it was the music that kept me there,

it came all around me from everywhere.

it must have lasted for hours and hours,

as the next i knew was the rain fell in showers,

but i did not get wet by any of the rain,

infact it took away all my pain.

oh why in life can this be not true,

to take away pain from me and you,

still let us be thankful for what we got,

and what we got is not a lot.

Interesting. For a moment there I thought the narrator was going to turn into a fairy. Nice meaning, good work :)

I enjoyed this... working in a nursing home, I've often imagined that this is what it must be like for my dementia patients when they see what the rest of us see... how the simplest of concepts make so much more sense than the harsh realities that burden the rest of us. I was worried as I read, that the pain would spread, that the tingling would continue and that a stroke were imminent. it's true, when it all ends... we have but not a lot.

Such a beautiful poem you've written there. A really emotive piece... I could actually imagine in my head as I read much of what was happening within. Really good work there, well done. :)

Wow! that was a wonderful way of expressing the pains in life and finally asking us to be contented with what we have. Of course we should thank God for giving us the strength to overcome the struggles in life.A great reality is portrayed well with apt words. good job!
