A Mid Winter Night
It had been a mild, mid winter night in X. When the city had been dark only half illuminated by the lurid lights of the city, the cold winds blew heavily; thick snow which had rained heavily upon the city, showed no signs of abating. And there was me, Xavier Kolarov, finally brought to this world unaware of what lied beyond for me.
It had been fifteen years since that day. Today after fifteen years and four days from my birth, things did not change much. It is the mid winter night like the one that day and it still snows as much.
The city was more developed and the night life was exquisite. The river Volga looked better than ever with bridges and canals. It is very close to where I live. We travelled across the river every month. The spacious restaurants, the sky reaching buildings, the sumptuous hotels and the gorgeous nightly lights made Moscow a grand city.
I loved my weekends in the city. But as weekdays closed in, life became a living hell as far as I am concerned. I really hated the cycle of each week. It was too strenuous to take in. There was nothing glorious at all. There was no excitement or imagination. The world proved to deprive of fantasy.
Life was not like what we see in films. I was raw, dull, inane, simple and whatever adjectives you can put.
That's when I looked back, things got difficult. It was snowing just like the day I was born. But things weren't the way they had been before. That I could not feel the snow even though I had feelings. The world felt dull. There was peace but I felt like a slave at war. There was everyone around me, life was not dull but I could not see anyone around me.
