John was in the middle of the lobby when the outbreak occured...

"So can I give you a call sometime?" John asked, taking the sheet of paper with the girls number on it and shoving it into his pocket.

"I would like that." the girl replied, standing up as her mom was waving her over.

"I'll call you tonight, we should get a drink or something." John replied, standing up as well.

The two hugged and parted ways. The girl went to her mom, dad and little sister and John went over to the bar on the side of the hotel.

"Scotch." he said, calling over to the bartender.

The bartender nodded as he poured a scotch and slid it over to John.

"Room two-twenty-two." John said, grabbing the scotch.

He lifted the scotch to his lips and took a sip. He set the scotch down and placed his head on the counter, breathing deeply. He was here on vacation with is friend, Jack. Jack was somewhere, probably trying to get a girls number, which he always ends up failing at or up in the room, cleaning up.

John took out his phone and punched Jack's number in. It rang three times before Jack answered.

"Yo, where are you?" John asked, taking a sip of the scotch.

"Im in the restaurant."

"Hot waitress."

"Ah. Well stay there, I'll co-"

He didn't finish his sentence before the scream occured. John jumped, his hair standing up.

John stood up and began walking towards the check-in. People were gathered around something and others were running. John pushed his way through to see what was going on.

In the center was a female laying sprawled on the ground. Her neck had been ripped open.

"Someone call the paramedics!" a man yelled, ripping his shirt off and bending over to place it on the woman's neck.

The woman was trying to say something but was just spitting up blood instead. She took a breath and then went still.

"Dear God." the man said, standing up.

Another screamed rang out from behind John. When he turned around as well as everyone else, he saw someone stumbling into the hotel lobby, soaked in blood. Skin was on the man's teeth as well as blood. A grunt occured behind John and as he turned, he saw the man that was trying to help the woman, fighting against her now. He stumbled and fell backwards, hitting his head on the ground. People began screaming and running as the woman took a bite out of the mans face. When the woman lifted her head, the mans nose was missing.

John stumbled back and began running towards the resaurant.

"Block the fucking doors!" John screamed, throwing the doors open.

John and Jack had gotten two people in before they couldn't wait any longer. They blocked the doors with tables and chairs and sat down against a wall, scared.

There were two people in there already.

"Thank you." a woman said, walking over to them.

Jack stood up and the girl hugged him and kissed him.

"It's okay." Jack replied, hugging her back.

"My name is Alyssa. You should know that already because you were trying to hit on me." Alyssa said, laughing dryly.

Alyssa was short. Long black hair that went down below her chest. She had blonde streaks here and there in her hair.

"I'm Jack." Jack replied.

The two that ran in walked over and introduced themselves as Breanna and Phil.

Breanna was tall. She had blonde hair and dark green eyes. Nothing really stood out on her.

Phil was tall and muscular. Most likely on a team at the high school. He was here on a trip with the school but snuck away to have his own fun. He was a senior in high school and this was the high school trip.

The other person that was in here when the outbreak occured was Mark. He was in his sixties. His hair was thinning and turning grey.

None of them noticed Brett until he came out from the back room. He worked here. He was in his thirties and had a buzz cut.

"What do we do?" Jack asked.

All of them looked towards John.

"I am guessing I am the leader?" John asked.

"If no one says 'No.'" Jack replied.

No one turned it down.

"So what do we do?" Alyssa asked.

"Stay here until help arrives. I don't know how long that would be though." John said.

"Than you guys arrived." Joh said, pointing to the group.

"So I was asleep for two days?" Austin asked, rubbing his head.

"I guess you were. None of us know how this happened though. We tried the radio and there was nothing except for that damn beeping sound that happens when there is a disaster." John replied, standing up.

"So all of you have been here, bunkered up for two days?" Dayan asked.

John nodded.

"Well we need to get out of here." David said, standing up.

"How? The lobby is swarming with those things."

"No it isn't, John. We just went through it. The halls are teeming with them but the lobby was clear except for the bodies on the floor." Amanda said, standing up next to David.

"Did you try the phones?" Jessica asked.

"Yes. We don't even get a dial tone." John replied.

"What do you think we should do?" Austin asked.

"Someone's out there!" Brett yelled.

John turned around and ran towards the doors. He looked out the slot and saw a man, dragging himself across the lobby.

"Let me out, I think he's okay." John yelled.

John grabbed the knife that was on the floor next to the doors and ran out.

When John made it to the man, the man was lying on his side. Blood streaming out of his mouth.

"Sir, are you okay?" John asked, kneeling down.

"Saf... safety." the man said, coughing up blood.

"Safety? Can you tell me where?" John said.

"N... north side of t... town." the man said, coughing up blood, spraying John in the face.

"North side of town?" John asked.

"Y... yes." the man said, gasping in air.

The man coughed once more and laid still.

John, taking no chances, placed the knife on the mans skin and slid it quickly across. Fresh blood spewed out, covering the floor and the mans clothes. John stood up and began walking back towards the restaurant.

"He said there was safety on the north side of the island?" Jack asked.

"Yes, that was what he said."

"What does he mean?" Brett asked.

"I don't know what he meant. Maybe they are getting people off of the island." John replied.

"So how are we going to go?" Mark asked.

"Gropus would be the best option." John said.

"Wait, you know what I don't understand?" Breanna asked.

"What?" John replied.

"How did he get in?" Breanna asked.

"Shit." John mumbled.

"We need to get out of here." Dayan said.

"Okay, everyone gather around." John said, his voice booming.

As everyone gathered around John began talking about the plan.

The people would split into three groups of four and one group of two.

"Are you all ready?" John asked.

"We need weapons." Dayan replied.

"Grab whatever you can from the kitchen and meet me back here." John said.

Everyone came back, holding either knifes or pans. They would find stuff along the way.

The doors had been un-blocked by John while the people were getting stuff they would need.

"Ready?" John asked.

All of them nodded.

"All of us, in our groups will go different ways. We will try to meet up there if we can. Good luck to all of you." John said.

John took his group, which included Brett, Jack and Alyssa with him out of the restaurant and towards the front doors.

Group one consisted of Ausitn, David, Amanda and Jessica.

Group two consisted of Dayan, Stuart, Jen and Breanna.

Group three consisted of John, Alyssa, Jack and Brett.

The final group was Mark and Phil.

One by one thr groups left until Austin's was the last on left.

"Are you all ready?" Austin asked.

Everyone nodded.

"Let's go." he said, turning and walking towards the lobby.
