It's the 21st century, and swords are no longer in use. That's why the Knight of the Round Table switched to guns. Not just any guns, though. Each of them has their own personal Excalibur. What makes them so special? I guess you'll have to read to find out.

My back hit the wall with a soft grunt as I looked over my right shoulder. My sense of direction was fading, the first sign I was truly being affected by the gas. I could still see it tinting the air up to my knees, a nasty looking yellow. It didn't have a smell to it, thank god, but I'm sure that was part of the danger of it. My right hand was in my left, near my crotch, and clutching my Excalibur. In any other scenario, I probably would have made a sex joke. Now, though, I was trying to be quiet. I had to be, considering my life was on the line.

Lucas was to my right, covering the opposite side of the doorway. His mouth was covered by his shirt. Smart.Still, I wasn't going to remove my hand from my gun. I saw through my peripherals as his head tilted left. I imitated him, though titling it right. He nodded, and I moved. In an instant, the two of us were on our knees and in the doorway, guns pointed forward. Two gunshots sounded off so close together that they rang as one, both aimed at the wings of the beast.

The absolute quickest way to get a Dragon's attention was to take out it's wings. And now that we caught its attention, it turned to us and roared. Adrenaline raced through my body, a rush so great no cliff or sky diver could relate. It made my body act faster, and thus the gas' effect was suddenly much deadlier. Lucas' mouth was still covered, but I wasn't so lucky. The Dragon turned to me, taking a step forward. Lucas took a shot at his foot, and I took aim for one of his back feet. I took the impossible shot, seeing as the thing was at least twenty feet long.

With the adrenaline, there was no way of me missing. Without any way to move; no wings, only its right feet; it opened it's mouth wide. My eyes fixated on the spot where a gem hung where its uvula should have been. Lucas rose his gun, but the gas was too much for me. I only just heard the ring of the shot before I fell to the ground. Lucas must have been on his feet, because it wasn't a second later I heard him running over to me. And just like that, I was out like a light.
