Prologue

High school can change lives in so many ways. You’re figuring out who you are and who you want to be. Those four years bring about so many different emotions; it’s hard to remember who you used to be. You have to stay true to yourself, and not let people get inside of your head, because if you do, you’ll end up like me; confused, alone, and wishing you could go back to before the drama started.

My story really starts my junior year, but before I start, here’s a little information you need to know.

My name’s Rylie Stevens. My boyfriend, Lucas Greenwood, is my life, and I’ve dated him since freshman year. I’m 16 and he’s 17. We met in gym class, during the volleyball unit. He offered to be my partner because I didn’t have any friends in the class. I’m five feet two inches and fairly skinny. I’m on the school’s varsity volleyball team. I’m told I’m empathetic, so I care about everyone. I like being nice, because it’s more fun than being mean to everyone. I also have a little bit of a temper. I want to be a nurse for a living, and I love Journalism and Psychology.

The last month of my sophomore year, I “sexted” Lucas and then his friend took the picture I had sent and sent it around to a few people. I got called a skank so many times; my mom let me switch schools. Since my parents are divorced, she had to clear it with my dad, but he was okay with it. Now, I’m going to a school that’s rated number one in the state for volleyball, which will be nice. Luckily, it’s only a half an hour away from my old school, so I’m not too far from Lucas. He comes over to my house a lot anyways. He has a key. I don’t care about my old friends; they ditched me when the picture got around.

That’s pretty much all you need to know. Now here’s my story.
