Nicholas came into my room. I glared at him. He held out his hands. “Before you kill me, let me say something.”
“Josh!” I yelled.
Nicholas rolled his eyes. “He’s gone. Will you please just let me talk to you?”
“No! Look I lied, and that was wrong, but you fucking told on me! Which just proves you’re not my friend. I don’t want to talk to you.” I picked up my fingernail polish bottle and threw it at him, hitting him in the rib. He grunted. “Get out!” I snapped.
He took in a deep breath. “Why don’t you stop acting like a five year old and let’s talk this out like adults?” he said back, his voice a snarl.
“Oh don’t even try to act like to even know what an adult is tattle tale.” I shot back, and grabbed one of my heels then threw it at him, and smiled when it hit him in the nose.
He let out a curse. “I’m not leaving until we talk this out. You can hit me or throw things at me as much as you want. Josh won’t be home for another four hours. He got called into work on an emergency.”
I raised an eyebrow at him. If he thought that was going to deter me he was wrong. “Reece!” I yelled. “Nicholas is in my room.”
He closed his eyes. “Shit.” he murmured.
Reece appeared a moment later, came in. He looked at Nick and nodded to the door. “Get out.” he said to him.
Nick turned and left, slamming the door behind him. “Thanks Reece.” I muttered.
“He didn’t hurt you or anything right?” Reece asked.
I gave him a look. “No, of course not. He was just annoying me with his presence.”
“You called me up here because he was trying to talk to you? Dammit, Zac, I thought it was something serious. Don’t scare me like that.”
“Just tell him to leave me alone.”
“No, not if he’s trying to work things out. You’re young, Zac, but you’re not a child. If you want to prove to Nick that you’re grown up then start acting like it. At least he’s trying. Look you know you like him, and he likes you. But he’s afraid to go anywhere because you’re Josh’s little sister and he doesn’t want to screw things up. But you know if you want him you’ll get him.
Zac you have an awesome body and I think it should be pretty damn obvious by now that Nick has noticed. Use it to your advantage instead of arguing about it.”
“Well there’s a flaw in your plan. I’m grounded for the rest of the summer.”
“Me and Nick are gonna get you out of it. We just need some time to let Josh cool down. He’s really pissed. It will probably be four days to a week.”
I laid back on my bed. “Alright. Send Nicholas back up here. I’m going to put a stop to this once and for all.”
Reece smirked, nodded. “Good. Cause I’ve got fifty bucks riding on this.”
I smiled back and lightly threw one of my pillows at him. He caught it and threw it onto the bed. “Thanks for not throwing your other shoe at me.”
I laughed. “No problem.”
He left and it was a moment later when Nick came back up, and came in with piece of plywood for protection. I couldn’t help smiling. “I’m not going to throw anything at you. I promise.”
He slowly lowered the board, studied my face. Then he set the board aside. “Are we going to talk now?”
“No.” I murmured. “I don’t want to have some long, dragged out conversation with you.” I stood up and walked over to him, looked up because he was a little bit taller than me. “You like me, I like you. Now let’s stop with this arguing and awkwardness and just say it. That kiss last night was not nothing, and was the best I ever had. Nicholas, I want you. We just have to get over that it can’t be like old times and that we want to be together. So can we please stop this? I don’t want to fight with you about this anymore.” I grabbed his face and pulled it down, then kissed him.
He kissed me back, and his breathing roughened quickly. It wasn’t long before he was picking me up and carrying me over to the bed. He laid me down, his lips still pressed to mine. He rested over me, kissing me passionately, his tongue edging between my lips and into my mouth. His hands went for my bra clasp, but I shoved them away.
“Nicholas.” I breathed. “We can’t… go any further. I have to tell Josh first. You know that. It’s one of the only things he’s ever asked of me, that I tell him first.”
“He’s going to kill me.” he sighed.
“No he’s not.” I murmured, brushed my lips against his. “Just let me tell him.”
