One week later

I guess I pretty much know my way around now, but every time I’m in the form room it feels like someone I know is watching me. It’s not Lonica, because it even happened on a day she wasn’t here.

“Hey, you’re that new girl, Hannah, right?” asked this girl who I didn’t know but sat opposite me in form time, though computers are in the way so I can’t see her that easily.
“Well, yes I guess, but everyone calls me Hannie” I guess I preferred being called Hannie, it had a somewhat unity to my name and it belongs to me and no one else.
“That’s cool, Hannah” It’s like she had completely ignored what I just said.
“Erm, Hannie please.” I hope she listens this time. I don’t really like being ignored.
“Ok, so, Hansie, where are you from?” No, it seems like either she is purposely trying to annoy me or is deaf.
“My name is Hannie and I’m from…London.” I don’t actually remember where I was born, we’ve moved so many times, but one of the first was London and since I didn’t plan to be friends with this girl, whatever her name is, it doesn’t matter.
“Ah, Hannah from London” I have moved ten times in my life and changed schools nine times, but I have only found Luinape and who I think might be Oblong.
“I’m Rosabelle-Hope Eportire, by the way. I sit opposite you in form time. You’re friends with Loni, aren’t you?” I thought on this a while. I guess I am her friend, she helped me on my first day and she’s the only person I talk to without them coming to me first, except our form tutor, Mr Rapley.
“Erm, I guess” I hoped this would answer her question. I also wish she would leave me alone. I like my own space.
“I think she’s weird, but don’t take my word for it. What do you think of Delilah?” She pointed at a girl sat in the corner by herself at a computer.
“I dunno. I’ve never spoken to her before.” As if by magic, the bell rung at that moment, meaning we had to get onto first lesson. As I walked out of the room, my eye caught the time. First lesson began at 9:15. It was 9:08. I guess it’s one of those things where you are saved by the bell…or the clock is slow.

Our first lesson was French, and since Lonica isn’t in the same set as me for French I sat on my own. Rose (as she likes to be called) is in my set but she’s already sat next to some other girls in my set. There’s also that girl, Delilah, the one that Rose asked me about.

“Okay ladies, today we are going to do some speaking about our families in French, of course. You need to work with a partner for this. Hannie, you’ll have to work with….Delilah”

Delilah looked at me and smiled. She picked up her red pencil case and stood up and made her way towards me and sat down beside me.

“Hello, Hexo” I stared at her
“Erm, my name’s Hannie”

I wanted to know how she knew my real name; it’s not possible for her to know that, she’s just a human…right?

“Well actually technically your name is Hexo. Your human name for this life is Hannie”
“But how do you know that?”
“Your admitting to it then?”
“I want to know how you know”
“I am a part of you, we share the same brain. Remember me?”

“You….your Hex?”
“Clever little girl”
“I’m not little. I’m 6 billion years old”
She put her hand on my shoulder. Shivers ran up and down my spine. I couldn’t bare it anymore. I stood up and ran out of the room, as far away from Hex as I could get.

After a few minutes, I realised that I would have to go back to class sooner or later, so I quickly came up with a lame excuse that I needed to be sick, and walked back to class, praying that the pair work was over. Luckily it was. The teacher asked me several times if I was alright, and if I needed to see the learning mentors. Every time I told her I was fine and didn’t want to go to the learning mentors. Before she could ask again, the bell for break went. I rushed out of the room as quick and as normal as I could, I could see Hex following me. I saw Lonica in front of me. “Lonica! Help me!” She turned around and saw that Hex was following me. “Why is Delilah following you?”

“Do you remember Hex?”

“Your evil clone?”
“Yes, Delilah is her and she trying to get me. I found out in French”

“What can I do about it?”
“I dunno. Stall her or something”
Lonica muttered this spell I didn’t recognise and Delilah stopped running, turned around, and sat down then started reading a book.

“Thanks. What did you do?”
“Made her forget about being Hex for a while”

“A while?”
“Yeah, it’s only temporary.”

“I guess this means you are my sister.”
“Yeah, I guess” She came up to me and we hugged. “I missed you”

“I missed you too. Luinape says Hi, by the way”

At that precise minute, Rose runs up to us. “Hey! Loni! Hannah! Why are you embracing?”

“We’re just hugging!”
“That’s what embracing means, Loni. Anyway, Hannah, you alright?”

“I’m fine, Rose. You don’t need to worry. And my name is Hannie, and her name is Lonica."

"Yeah, I know, Hannah. Delilah's acting weird today, do you have any clue why that might be? Oh, and that reminds me, Miss Volley said she wanted to see Loni in her room now, I spoke to her on my way from French.”

“What for?”
“She didn’t say”
“Oh. Bye, then Hannie”
