I could say that I'm not like any other teenager. I could say that I'm far more mature and responsible then most that make up my fellow generation. I could say that I don't partake in gossip and
petty crushes and breaking the rules just to break the rules. I could say that my story isn't like any other teen romance you've read. I would be lying.
This story is probably like every other book you've pulled off the shelves looking for that temporary satisfaction; that belief that romance does happen in high school. But before you click the back button, or close the cover, understand that here is a story that can draw tears to your eyes, make you laugh aloud in a silent library, or make you fall in love with a person that only exists in these chapters. So before you go pull out that old Meg Cabot book (which are all amazing, by the way), make yourself comfortable and read my story. And in true teen romance fashion, it begins with a guy...
"Who's that?" I asked Denise, pointing at the tall, dark mystery that had brushed past me. His leather jacket and spiked black hair had caught my eye and the fact that he hadn't so much asglanced at me, kept my interest.
"Oh, that's Seth Vittore. Don't get caught up on him. He's got a reputation." She said darkly.
"What do you mean? He's a player?" I asked, confused. So far, no girls had looked in his direction. In fact, everyone seemed to shy away from him.
"No, I don't think he's ever dated anyone from here." She said thoughtfully, then continuing, "everyone says he's dangerous. That he's involved in some organized crime stuff."
I could feel curiousity bubbling up inside of me. "Like the mafia?"
Denise laughed. "Yeah, I guess something like that. Come on. We'll be late for class." She pulled me away from my locker and down the hallway, away from the dark stranger. How was I supposed to know that our paths would soon cross again?
