"Cheyenne?" Kita yelled through the snowy tundra.
"What?" Cheyenne giggled as she picked up a bucket of water.
"You know that's our only amount of water for the rest of the day, stop spilling it!" Kita bickered.
"Alright, alright." Said Cheyenne as she held the bucket upright and continued to trudge through the thick snow beneath their feet. All Kita could hear was the crunch crunch crunch of the snow squishing under them.
"What do you think of Mica, really?" Cheyenne asked with an inquisitive chuckle, at her shy friends denial of love for him.
"I do not know what you mean, Cheyenne. He is my friend, OUR friend, that is all." She said with a hidden and sneaky smile. Cheyenne rolled her eyes and shook her head and began to walk faster than Kita.
"Do not spill that water!" She yelled to Cheyenne as she ran up to the 'culdesac' of cabins. They were all made up of light brown logs and all surrounded a big fire pit that they all hovered around before going to sleep. Kita responsibly carried her water bucket slowly and brought hers into her cabin and quickly handed to her mother before trudging back outside. Cheyenne sat on a tree trunk by the unlit fire pit.
"What do you want to do now?" She asked. Before Kita could answer she heard Mica walk through the snow and yell, "Hey there, Kita! Would you like to go for a walk?" He asked.
She inevitably blushed. "Sure!" She said trying not to sound as thrilled as she was sure she looked. Cheyenne giggled and Kita got up and made her way to Mica. Suddenly she heard the heavy wooden door slam coming from her cabin. Kita turned around anxiously to see who it was. Her little sister Nahla ran to catch up with her.
"Kita! Where are you going?" She asked quietly as she ran to her side.
"Nowhere, Nahla! Go inside." She responded. Nahla crossed her arms and tucked her chocolate brown hair behind her ears.
"That's a lie!" Nahla insisted. Kita rolled her eyes.
"Why do you care?" She muttered. Nahla smiled.
"I want to go wherever you go." She said sweetly.
"Fine! Mica, do you mind if Nahla comes with us?" Kita asked giving a look of apology.
Mica smiled, "Sure, the more the merrier." He smiled.
Kita faked a smile but thought for a moment, that must have meant he didn't like her that way. She gave a sheepish look to Cheyenne who just smiled and waved.
