Prologue

The sword felt heavy in my hand. The tears trickled down my cheeks. It might as well have been raining. I looked toward him, my love, my life. He was silent and he looked at me with nothing but love in his eyes. It was enough to kill me inside.

He dropped his weapon to the ground beside him, trying to make this easier for me to finish him. He slowly approached and took my hand, orientating the swordI held until it wasbeneath his heart.

I was frozen on the spot. He really expected me to do this. Did I have the strength to murder the one guy I had truly ever loved? It was a selfish act on my account, there was no doubt about it. If I killed him now in coldblood, right in front of me, my own life would be spared the fate. Could I live with that?

I looked up and him and smiled, kissing him on the lips one last time. I was sure as hell going to miss him.

Before he could stop me, I spun the sword around and drove it into my own heart...
