The winds howl a sinister tune these nights. Even in this place, I never thought the wars would ever reach here. The one place I feel I can truly belong to has now joined in the hellfire that is this endless cycle of war. Home is no longer the same one I left fifty years ago, for a life of adventure. So it would seem… I have found a new one.

I am Vifur Heltimen. I am a paladin of Tempess, goddess of light. I traveled the lands, with a band of mercenaries who like myself, despised the endless fighting and sought something more. Adventure. I scratch my long black and grey dwarven beard, and ponder just how greatly this world has changed.

I had hoped I would never have to see the gentle green hills tarnished by the red of men’s rusty blood, or the azure skies filled with the grey of smog from war machines. It makes my heart ache with sadness, that the memories must be tarnished. For once, I decided to make an even greater name for myself.

I would be the light that would bring my valley to peace. I would bring down the humans who threatened our peace, the elves who hunt those who would wander into the forest. I would slay the orcs who would bring axe in hand to cut and burn our gentle forests. I am Vifur Heltimen. Paladin. Warrior. Hero. I am all of these things. But now, I am the defender of my people. I never could imagine my life would become more then this. But, fate has its own ways of deciding our destinies. I have already learned that. But my tale, as you will read, goes beyond even that.

It goes beyond the very fabric of time and space, existence itself.

To the time of the end.

I see you changed the original writing you posted, Why? Though i must admit i love this as a prologue! Very deep in his thoughts, you get the urge to find out about the end he's speaking of. I love this, KEEP ME UPDATED ^^
