Chapter 4: Kate

I whirled around to the tall man standing in the doorway. He had large, wire rimmed glasses sitting on the edge of his nose. He wore khaki pants and a t-shirt. In appearance, he wasn't really intimidating. But if you looked into his eyes you'd realize that he was hiding more than he let others know.

"What are you doing in here?" I contradicted.

His eyes narrowed at me. "I'm checking on my new students that will be attending here," he smiled condescendingly. It was like he knew things and secrets that everyone else didn't.

I nudged Zoey, hoping that she'd get the message that dude was a FREAK. She glanced at me, shuffling to the left, before turning her attention back on Freaky-Guy.

"So....You're a teacher or somethin'...Right? Because if your a stalker than I want a freakin' refund and-"

"I'm not a stalker. My name is Demetrius. I'm head Dean here," he said proudly.

Big whoop. He got a special plaque for getting to order around a bunch of kids. Freaky-Guy led us outside to the different buildings. I have to say it looked pretty normal on the outside, but I doubted that the inside looked normal too. The first building had a dove engraved on the door.

Zoey was running her mouth to Demetrius while Lina ran up next to me. She nodded to me, her eyes narrowing at the door. I threw it open, gasping in horror while Lina cried bloody murder.

It EVERTHING WAS PINK!! And clean. Everything was neat, organized, cleaned, and pink. I couldn't stand it. I mean, the place looked untouched. Like it was there for show and nothing more. A plush pink couch sat in the lobby, and pink, plastic-looking girls sat perched on it carefully. Like little barbies. I felt barf coming in my throat. Zoey had stopped tslking next me, staring in horror at the room.

"Holy....ship," she muttered.

I nodded, while the girls scowled at Lina. Lina was writhing on the floor, her dark red hair going in all directions while she continued to scream, "It burns".

This was what I was talking about. When I'd walked around the place, I noticed that every building had symbols. And those symbols had something to do with Greek Gods. I'd read this book on Greek mythology lately, at the library, because i was extremely bored. So luckily, I knew some of these symbols.

If I had to guess, I'd say this is Aphrodite's Cabin. And the girls that lived here definitely fit the part: shallow, pink, and plastic. The only cabin's I'd want to see would be Zues, Athena, or Hephestas. They're some of the coolest Greek Gods ever. But I still couldn't figure out how Freaky-Guy fit into all of this.

"Lina, is that really nessessary?" Freaky-Guy narrowed his eyes at her. "You already have a whole cabin to yourself. Stop terrorizing the Aph-....girls."

Lina paused, her face lighting up like the fourth of July. "You know what? It's GREATbeing an only child," she looked pointedly at the plastic-y girls, "I'd hate to have to try to be the prettiest for MY mommy."

The four girls all glanced nervously between each other. I didn't know how Lina did it, but she magically turned the attention away from her.

I probably should ask Lina about what happened at Walmart. Like, was that really Hades? Did Hades actually live under Walmart? And here were the Greeks, searching their whole life for the entrance to the underworld when all they had to do is become modernized. Go figure.

"So...uh....What is this place?" I asked innocently.

Freaky-Guy looked sympathetic, like every newbie went through this. Zoey shot me an irritated look- she knew I was faking.

"This is the Gods Academy. Even though we don't actually have the Gods staying here, but their children. This place is like a school with all the normal cirriculum of mortal school, plus more for the children of the Gods. We believe that you two are children of Gods. You have to be marked, claimed by your parent. It usually happens with in a few weeks when staying here," he explained all of this extremely quickly, as if expecting us not to get it.

I got it. And I also got that I this meant I wouldn't have to take that pre-algebra test tomorrow.

"Greek Gods? Like....Zues?" Zoey asked, beaming.

"Greek Gods exactly," he confirmed.

"No Pre-Algebra test?" I guessed.

"Hell yeah!" Zoey fist bumped the air, looking extremely stupid.

Freaky-Guy gazed at us uncertainly, probably trying to decide whether to send us off to therapy. I'd happily go. "Anyway," he continued, "Once you're marked, you each must move into a dorm that is under your parents. Then you get your classes and-"

"Wait. We have to go to SCHOOL?! Like....As superhumans?" Zoey scowled, pursing her lips in annoyance. Blonde.

"Well," Freaky-Guy shifted uneasily. "Yes. It's required. Otherwise we can't have a school and you're killed because you don't know how to defend yourself."

At least he was being honest.

A/N: I feel like SINGING!!!!!! I don't know why though. I absolutely HATE that one song by Katy Perry. Even though it's pretty old.
