...Lily.” He said. My heart skipped a beat and I thought I was about to faint. I was completely and utterly in love with this guy and he HAD to like my BEST FRIEND?!?! Oh g-d how am I going to deal with this, I have to tell Lily!

“Oh, Lily? Alright, I have to go.” I said and ran away. I got home and was completely out of breath. I ran upstairs and called Lily straight away. I heard her and said
“CODE RED, CODE RED! Come to mine RIGHT NOW!” and hung up. I waited there for no longer than 2 minutes then I heard the doorbell ring. Surprised at how quickly she came I ran downstairs and opened the door. No, Lily wasn’t standing at the door. It was James. I let him in and he said that he just wanted to see Honey, good, nothing to do with me.

Another 10 minutes later, I heard the doorbell ring again and yes, this time it was Lily. I pulled her upstairs and sat her on the bed. Before she could say anything I said

“James likes you.” Her mouth dropped and then there was a very sad look on her face. She sat there staring at me then hugged me. She then quickly pulled me away with a very serious look on her face. I put on a confused face then asked her what the matter was. She said

“We have a serious case of love circle going on here.”

“What? But I like James, James likes you, you like the new guy, David but he doesn’t like anyone right? And no one likes me.” I replied.

“Oh, but there is where you’re wrong. Just as I was about to leave for your house, I got a call from David telling me that he needed to tell me something and that he really like this girl. I asked who it was and he said, Jennifer. Then he said, I know that you two are really good friends, so can you give a good word for me? I was completely devastated as I’m sure you were about James. So there we are a horrible sad love circle.”

“Oh my g-d.” Was all that could come out of my mouth. How am I supposed to deal with this?

“Does either of the guys know?” I asked her.

“I don’t think so. Should we tell them?” She said.

“Umm, I don’t think we should right now, maybe another time, like later on.” I replied. We went downstairs and saw Honey screaming at James. As we reached the bottom of the stairs, James and Honey turned and looked at us. Honey gave Lily dirty looks, while James just stared at her in complete awe. It really hurt inside to see him looking at Lily like that, but I guess that I can’t force anyone to like me. Honey looked at James then Lily, sighed then rolled her eyes and stormed upstairs. James then walked up to Lily and smiled. She looked back at him and smiled nervously then she looked at me and gave me a worried look. I gave her an “it’s ok” look and she smiled. James then walked back to the couch and then gestured for Lily to sit down. She started walking closer to him then gestured for me to come and sit down.

“Lily, I have to talk to you.” He said.
“Umm alright.” She replied turning to me and giving me another worried look, this time I returned the look.
James then looks at me and gives me the look to go away. I sighed, stood up, gave Lily a “Good luck look” and walked upstairs to my room. I sat there twiddling my thumbs until I heard Lily slowly creak the door open and peek inside. I looked up with an interested expression on my face then gestured her to tell me what happened.
