He liked to joke, yet he had willingly given me the plan to The School which had given me hope, he was willing to help and he would do what he could, within the rules, to help me.
The School looked complicated; it had 3 layers, or floors. The top layer was all for teachers and Badgers room was right next to the stairs, giving me the advantage of being able to make a quick escape from that floor without bumping into anymore creepy teachers. If all the students are like Otter, which is expectantly unlikely, then I had a larger chance of making it out alive. Otter’s room, according to the map was just down the stairs and to the right, about 6 doors down, which looked small on this map but, as I was soon to learn, was further than I thought, but I had a large chance of running out at the door if there aren’t many people, especially if they are unaccustomed to girls making a run for it.
If I can break away on the stairs of the teacher’s floor, can I make it to your room and hide there or would I need to make a break beforehand near the entrance?
I asked him. I was unsure if I could trust him enough to hide in his room, but it had an easier break away chance as it was less obvious but before he could answer his hand left my shoulder and he hid in the nearby bushes, guessing that Badger was about to turn round I put my head down and concentrated on making my footsteps heard so it would look like me walking rather than Otter.
Badger did turn round only a few seconds after Otter had made himself hidden to grin at me happily “Welcome to The School” he said “I will give you a minute to enjoy the view before I blindfold you so you can’t escape” I looked up in admiration at The School. It may have been night but that didn’t stop the beauty of The School standing out.
It had light white walls that looked like they had never seen dirt; it had a lake nearby with the stars glittering as a reflection within the lake. The grounds were huge, light green open space full of unusual looking plants. It was beautiful.
The blindfold complicated things; I needed to be able to see if I wanted to escape. I also still needed Otter’s help and he hadn’t been able to answer and probably won’t now, I will just have to hope that he would say yes.
